you'll wait forever or hope to get lucky, the TRD replicas are known to have good fitment check Edd at Funked on FB or Celica-tuning. Ive seen a lot of fakes these days and they are getting better and better. yeah I was in the GB from Funked a couple months ago, should have added in the sides .... at the time I was just doing the front and rear, going to wait a bit see if I cant find any stateside (not to deal with international shipping) Thanks though |

Starting to look for a good pair of TRD sides. Authentic preferred, but if you have good pics of them installed on your car I'm ok with 'fakes'. Getting rid of my OEM ones if anyone wants ($20 pick up NC). Let me know if anyone is looking to get rid of them. I don't check 6gc that often anymore, FB or text five18-477-302 six I know shipping will be a pain, Greyhound/Amtrak is cheap for thing like these. Thanks |

Alright, I figured out the shifting assembly - it is quite different from C and E series boxes. You have to remove the lock bolt (which was stuck in my case) and the outside shift arm will come out. Off comes the protective rubber boot, and you're greeted with a 36mm nut to unbolt the cap that holds the shift mechanism in place. Had to run to HF to pick up the 36mm socket... The middle case is not off, gears exposed. All I have to do now is remove all the S51 gears, swap out the gears with the S54 ones, and press everything back together. Then swap the final drive, speed sender ring, and the bearing over to the Kaaz LSD and bolt everything back up checking the clearances. Fun. Hope you were able to take lots of pics, and videos! I don't know what im doing internally to an trans, would be nice to have pics specifically for ours. |

A bit off topic, I had Mechman alternator with my old 7a (not sure if they made them for the 5s) but it worked great. Idle/load Amps, about the same. It was a direct swap, just needed a different size belt. I still have it I believe if anyone is looking. |

Ive seen a few 5sgte builds (from alltrac/mr2) pushing 500-600, but that's a decently crazy build. I would lower your expectations a bit, 1,000hp is ridiculous. The 300ish an st205 gets you is a lot faster than you'd think The general support for something over those build just isn't available, it would all be custom. |

I am a celica freak, I want to take a 5sfe block and build a full race motor. I also want to rework the rear and create space for an awd system. Was wondering if anyone has attempted this yet? If so what problems did you encounter and tips for finding parts. All work will be done by me and my friend who is a certified mechanic. Never to be posted from again.... |
