I've been looking into a CAI for my 5sfe but I can't really find any CARB legal. So I was just thinking since I have a INJEN SRI why not just buy this tube and attatch it to the bottom and run it down the hole where the stock CAI is at. There's still the CARB sticker on there so no prob right? Lol. I'm just wandering if anyone has ever used these kind of product before.

Here's the link to one.

there is injen intake and weapon r are carb. but honestly keep your stock intake in the garage and then switch it back at time of smog.

those are not junk. do not our stock intake systems use rubber as well? so how does that make that product junk??

Yea. I was thinking I might as well just buy a 90-94 Accord CAI and modify for my car but at the same time I don't have a dremel or a drill......lol. Then when it comes time for smog I can just throw back my injen SRI. I might give this a try. Still debating. I don't want these to be cheap material and brake off and gets sucked into the engine......scary thought.

honestly a stock airbox with K&N + changing the rubber piece for a smooth aluminum one is going to do just as well as anything else.
and be pretty darn cheap.

Have you used these before? The flex part is not made to be used daily and is paper thin.

I guess it's better off being safe than sorry and just not get this. Might get fragile over time from the engine heat and break apart. Probably be best to just the accord mod method. It's only 20 dollars more. Lol.

if you had a custom air box with a 3" neck pod filter inside and then the airbox inlet port was also a 3" neck, then that flexible tube would be suitable to run from there down to the front bumper.

i would never use that flex tube between the throttlebody and the air filter

If I wanted to do that. I would have to modify the injen short ram. Would have to cut off the end a bit. Might as well just buy a Accord CAI and mod that instead of modding both the injen SRI and the accord CAI.
