Hey guys and girls,
When I got my 6g, the plastic strip with the teeth in the antenna mast was broken off so the car made that classic awful grinding sound when the antenna tried to wind up or down. Toyota wants nearly $60 for a replacement mast and the Celica-specific aftermarket ones on ebay or Amazon have terrible reviews. However, I did find one aftermarket mast on Amazon that has great reviews. The dimensions weren't given but it looked very similar in the pictures so for only $20 I though I'd give it a try. Well I'm happy to report that I installed it on my 6g and it's working great. For anyone looking for an inexpensive alternative to the OEM mast, I'd recommend this one. Here are some of the dimensions comparing the stock mast vs the RX300 mast from AntennaX: Plastic gear strip length - Old 39.5", New 46.75" Antenna tube height (fully collapsed) - Old 10.25", New 9.75" Antenna tube diameter - Old 11.55mm, New 11.0mm
