after a long (in my eyes) hiatus from June 2012, finally back on the road





So here is the story of my celica.




so i dont get to ramble on too much, lets start out with the first picture i took of my car back in 2006 when I got her.


the first mod that i did was my JL speakers all around. nothing special. i wasnt too much into the whole 6gc scene until a little bit after.

i then stripped the hub caps and started putting every sticker i found on that car!







then i had finally gotten into the 6gc scene and started to mod her. first things first, a $70 weapon r intake from a fellow member. needless to say i felt badass installing it seeing as how it was my first mod.

after that came exhaust, a nice n\' rare SP1




THEN TRAGEDY STRUCK!
i had thrown a rod and my car was up for about 3months, saddest moment ever!


after all was said and done, i got a new rebuilt block.

Then after not having it for a while i wanted to get her gifts, thus leading us into the...

then i put on my XS auto headers the NIGHT before i was leaving for my freshman year of college. ended up rushing and cutting to hastily and had a bad exhaust leak. and a lil bit after put heat wrap on the rad tubes
also i got one of the limited DCR 3points




then after a month or so, my engine quit on me while cruising around pittsburgh. had to tow it back home to the shop the block was built at in philly. ended up being a bad head gasket.



then i just started buying stuff while at school and putting it in

lol yeah I had planned on getting the rotor hats re-anodized a different color because I wasnt sure It would look good. But they were too worn to re-do. SO Ronald McDOnald it is!
So just a couple more colors and Ill have the whole rainbow hahaha

was driving around town on memorial day and all of a sudden


also checked compression first before I found this just to make sure it wasnt a headgasket failure



Since the exhaust is too loud to pass inspection I am going to have to get another resonator fabbed into the setup along with a non highflow cat to temporarily replace the highflow thats currently in

just pick up some silencers for the exhaust. Easy cheap and removable.

that was the original temporary fix I had planned to do. But I decided to take the car back to the Fab shop and have them remedy the issue properly. Plus, I hate how the silencers look when in!

took a couple shots this weekend, have to get back on the horse with taking pictures of the car

You have a very nice lighting set up there. What kit do you use?

Two Alien Bee's and some light modifiers. I highly recommend their products, and they come in cool colors!! haha

I just had a quick look (I haven't heard the name in AUS before) they look nice And expensive I'm just using a couple of wireless speedlites at the moment What SLR set up do you use? And is it just a hobby?

They are in the middle range for lighting equipment, but speedlights do have their advantages! They are alot more portable and easy to carry around than the Alien Bees. I have a big suitcase I use to lug everything around.
Im shooting with a Canon 1DMK2. Its just a hobby now, Ive done photo work in the past and didnt enjoy it, I like to take pictures when I feel like taking pictures, not when someone tells me too haha

hahaha, I feel that way too. My girlfriend loves to take photos and has gigs lined up, but me, I just shoot when I want, what I want, and why I want.

Here are some more details with the Brake line situation for the GT-Four calipers.
Originally I had ordered Goodridge Lines for the MKIV Supra/Sc300. The fittings for the flare fittings do not adapt to out car. And the length of the Rear Line in the kit was too short.
So in the meantime I used the Stock lines for all 4.

For the rear using the stock line is fine. There is no length issue.
For the front, using the stock lines CAN be done, but at full lock the line can be stretched a little. And you MUST check its clearances as it turns from straight to full lock to make sure that it doesn't get snagged on the coilover or coilover bolts. I also added a hard plastic cover for the line so It wouldn't wear through as it rubs against the coilover when turning to full lock.

This was only temporary and I had ordered the StopTech stainless steel lines for our Gen celica after calling Stop Tech and getting the length Specs on their lines. There are other brands that make stainless steel lines for our car, but I trust StopTech more than TechnaFit or other brands.

After getting them in the front Stoptech lines were JUST about the same size as stock and the rears were a little bit longer. SO I switched the front and the rear lines. The front line banjo fitting has a slight bend to it so it wont rest on the back face of the caliper. Since a bit of length is gained, it didn't hurt to rotate the banjo fitting a bit so the whole thing isnt resting on the caliper. The line end is re-enforced with hard plastic so that wont be an issue.
Using the front line in the rear doesn't raise any issues. Its still long enough to fit fine.

Even with the longer length lines in the front, there is still possibility for the lines to hug the coilover a bit at full lock, and possibly wear on the PFTE coating after extended use, so zipting a small hard plastic line cover over it is reccommended

MIke, why didn't you use ss braided lines made for the GT-Four ?

I couldnt find any really. Other than J-Speed (which was expensive) and some other brand.
Plus Id have to wait for shipping (which probably would have ended up taking the same amount of time as getting the stoptechs since they were special order)

The stoptechs actually feel a bit more rigid than the goodridge

Ive been searching around for some new coilovers to get. My rears have been rusted up and aren't adjustable anymore. Might just get rears instead of all 4. But for the meantime I'm looking into full sets.
This time around I am going to make some coilover covers to protect my "investment"

found out that Ksport offers other models other than the Kontrol Pro's for our car!!
