Today I bought more JDM parts... make it stop :'(

*STOPS IT* I don't know, I've never been able to convince myself to spend good money on cosmetic parts for my car. I rather drop the money into making it faster. tongue.gif

It's a lot easier making it look pretty than making faster though. biggrin.gif

Today my rear strut bar came in, thanks to cww180 for selling it to me.

Exactly what's wrong with the car. tongue.gif This is why I need a SBC or SBF in my life.

Yeah... what he said tongue.gif And with our licensing laws here we can't really touch anything performance wise anyway... And most of the time it is used for going to the shops or the bus station, so the performance is kinda adequate from the 5S O.O That said, I'd never say no to more tongue.gif I think the thing is that it has so much torque down low that when you're on single lane roads and not going above 60 kph that you don't notice the lack of power. That said... you have a 7a Box... tongue.gif

7A that's faster than your 5S with a slush-box behind it. wink.gif

OH, and gets better gas mileage. tongue.gif

You have to understand the last car I had pushed 340 hp and 480 ft lbs of torque stock, so most everything else is kind of mundane. That and every other car has been in the 200+ hp club. The Celica is my first 4 cylinder, so of course I find it lacking. The gas mileage is nice though. tongue.gif

Not if I convert to tiptronic semi-auto tongue.gif Then I have all the control of manual but less delay in the shifting tongue.gif

So today we went to look at the celica. It's a bit rough. The guy is my customer which is kinda funny... But we negotiated to $1200. Needs new doors, new driver fender, rockers are rough. Front number needs to be remounted. Driver headlight is broken and needs to be replaced. There is a wire running from one headlight to another to give power, car has 201k miles on the 7a-fe. There is also a rot hole under the driver side rear fender. Inside plastics are rough like it got hit hard on the driver side. Door and hood and bumper have been replaced. Cv axle is bad as well on driver side. There is also some bubbling around the front window.

Positives, frame and underneath is SOLID. There is no rust on the parts where I've got rust underneath. It's got the header and downpipe combo, it has an intake, clutch is solid, car runs well, was highway driven constantly, suspension parts are good, interior is pretty clean, has decent rims, no shakes driving down the road, has okay tires, brakes are newish, it doesn't have a sunroof so no rot where it would drain, hatch is really solid...

What do you guys think? Should we get it? Nice thing too is that the guy is an officer, so he'll follow us home so we don't have to tow it.

$1200 is kinda high for the conditions you mentioned. But then again it's USA, I don't know how would it compare to a Celica in Europe.

Seems about right. All the little niggles can be taken care of for not too much. Finding a car that runs for around $1,200 that has no major problems is generally a good find. If she wants a Celica and doesn't mind putting in some elbow grease I say go for it.

Let's be honest here, the roughest Celica is still better than the nicest Civic. laugh.gif

Purged my Devils Own water/meth injection for the first time! Still need to tighty up some a few things up and tap in the nozzle. Was glad to see it works and to clean the lines out!
