after a long (in my eyes) hiatus from June 2012, finally back on the road
![]() So here is the story of my celica. so i dont get to ramble on too much, lets start out with the first picture i took of my car back in 2006 when I got her. ![]() the first mod that i did was my JL speakers all around. nothing special. i wasnt too much into the whole 6gc scene until a little bit after. i then stripped the hub caps and started putting every sticker i found on that car! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() then i had finally gotten into the 6gc scene and started to mod her. first things first, a $70 weapon r intake from a fellow member. needless to say i felt badass installing it seeing as how it was my first mod. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdQKHBZH2yg...re=channel_page ![]() after that came exhaust, a nice n\' rare SP1 ![]() ![]() THEN TRAGEDY STRUCK! i had thrown a rod and my car was up for about 3months, saddest moment ever! ![]() after all was said and done, i got a new rebuilt block. ![]() the day it was back on the road ![]() this is the first pic i took with my new camera ![]() Then after not having it for a while i wanted to get her gifts, thus leading us into the... BAD IDEA PHASE ![]() ![]() ![]() end phase then i put on my XS auto headers the NIGHT before i was leaving for my freshman year of college. ended up rushing and cutting to hastily and had a bad exhaust leak. and a lil bit after put heat wrap on the rad tubes also i got one of the limited DCR 3points ![]() ![]() then after a month or so, my engine quit on me while cruising around pittsburgh. had to tow it back home to the shop the block was built at in philly. ended up being a bad head gasket. then i just started buying stuff while at school and putting it in SPENDING PHASE installing hid\'s in february ![]() ![]() ![]() most up to date interior shot at night ![]() ![]() most up to date engine shot ![]() Got some bars ![]() STEELIES PAINTED yellow jdm fogs ![]() jdm tails ![]() yellow highs ![]() MATURING PHASE well i took off all the stickers haha ![]() got new rubbers ![]() a big shipment ![]() auto-x came into my life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s66yhF5jtVk ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() then she sat for a while, not being modded, she was content ![]() THE SCREW YOU GUYS MY CAR IS FINALLY LOWERED PHASE this is how she sits as of now ![]() ![]() props to art for getting me into this scene the end.....? get some BCs :shamelessplug: Megan has a new Street Series now, under $700 too. Both only offer the low end "street series" I am looking for a slight upgrade from street series coilovers since I plan on doing ALOT more auto-x and tracking in the coming years -------------------- ![]() 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

There's always Tein, Tanabe, and TRD. Though I think they're all discontinued now.

See if KW makes some coils for the Celica. If you can get KW V3, they're the best "cheap" (read: sub-$3000) coilovers for actual racing. They have height adjustment, rebound adjustment and compression adjustment. They're yellow and purple too, so they'd match with your brakes for that added style points

what you just did is get me all excited that KW made coilovers for our car, I went and searched with high hopes, only to have them SMASHED to BITS when discovering they dont. I blame myself because ive looked before on KW

Are there any other "entry" coils that are stiffer than BC/Megans? K-sport/D2 maybe?

Im not sure what all the out of the box spring rates are. Im pretty sure you can get custom spring rates from each company. I believe KSports have a higher spring rate than most.
I am leaning more towards the GT-Pro as the RR's are more "race only" they say The GT-Pro's have a higher spring rate out of the box than the Kontrol Sport Pro, but I believe that is common when moving up to advanced systems throughout all brand coilovers. They try to keep lower spring rates for more comfort obviously -------------------- ![]() 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

I freaking love mine, even though I only have them for the rear, but they are amazing. You will get pretty much 0% body roll when doing autoX with them on the stiffest settings. |

i know czwalga had said that he got them for around 4k new. That might be a BIT out of my range. im trying to stay within 1500. Unless if I can find some used, but they are more of a custom order type of setup with Hot Bits

Tein from USA? Though your USA specs are different to our Japanese ones, which are discontinued. Or try fortune auto though they only list ST185 & ST205 Celica's atm

My D2 RS's have high spring rates (something like 10.5 front and 11.5 rear) and are fully adjustable with camber plates, as well as lower slotting to allow the top bolt to rock for adjustment. I love them. Only thing that scared me was the height my sway bar has to sit in the rear. I'm looking into a longer Moog part number that will allow it to hang lower. Otherwise, I've got them on 18 right now with a 0 preload on the spring and it's a tad stiffer than I'd like, but holy hell does it dig into corners. That's also on winter tires! I've also noticed that because I'm running a slight rake, the rear has a higher tendency to want to break free first. It's great fun in the bends now

I don't think the rake has much to do with the oversteer, once this car stiffens up it just tends to do that. Lovely characteristic.
