Note: I'm absolutely not advertising or trying to sell anything here (I'd hate to break any rules, and a Celica forum isn't the place to sell a truck anyway), I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how much they think the vehicle can go for when I do eventually list it on eBay. My father left it to me to sell off his truck; since I get a cut, I'm rather motivated to push it as far as is reasonable (the money I get out of it will inevitably become Celica food).

It's a black 2006 Nissan Frontier SE 4x4, all stock, 4WD, 4.0L V6, automatic. Great condition really, no rust or accidents; no cracks or tears in the interior. Perfect mech condition, original paint with no spotting or fading. CD player, extended cab, little extras like the rainguards and bugshield. He also said it has some kind of spray-on bed liner? It has about 66k miles on the speedo, owned solely by my father since it was brand new.

So anyway, I need some advice on what would be a reasonable price for it. My father was planning on trading it in for ~10k toward a new truck; whatever I sell it for, I get everything over the 10. According to eBay, the same truck's sold for between $14,725 and $15,650. I was thinking of listing at ~14,000-15,000, if that's what's selling. Since you guys have more experience than me when it comes to cars in general, and probably in buying and selling them, I'm here only for some advice if you'd be so kind.

How much would any of you guys pay for a truck like that, OR if you were selling it, how much would you list it for?

I'd Craigslist it at the high end, Like 15,500 or 16,000. you can always take less and make the buyer feel like he's getting a deal. Ebay is usually a good way to judge the market. But, I would not drop lower than 12, or 13, Whats KBB?

I agree, it always seems easier to start at the high end, rather than low and end up getting less than you could have. I at first said 15k, toward 16k as well because the truck is honestly in pretty great condition for a 7 year old vehicle. KBB value, assuming I got all of the options right (not sure whether the wheels are steelies or alloys though?):

Excellent
$13,723
Very Good
$13,323
Good
$13,023
Fair
$11,948

Ebay puts things a tad differently:

"What it's Worth
Just sold on eBay Motors:
$14,725-$15,650
Kelley Blue Book Value:
$12,000-$16,650"

Don't trust the ebay whats it worth thing.

You're ususally lucky to get KBB value on craiglist, and ebay unless you're dealing in high end rare cars you get the lowest value from my experience. Why shop nationally when you can shop in your area.

List it for 13,500. Take 13,000.

And so the plot thickens :P I never used Craigslist before, and eBay to me always seemed like the place to get decent cars at low prices; we got a parts truck for my mom's '96 Ram for $1400, and that ended up being the truck we used because it runs fine even though the outside looks like crap. My Celi came from eBay too for less than 3k, and was listed just over in East Stroudsburg. But on the flip side, I've also seen some real junk sell for more than they were ever worth, usually in bidding though. I simply default to eBay because I have more experience with it, and it seems like one of the quicker ways to sell off the truck.

But thank you for your input, you make a fair point and I'll certainly take it into consideration when I do decide what to do with it. (:
