Somehow works significantly better than black Plasti-Dip. tongue.gif

If she wants a manual she should hold out for one. Nothing like being stuck with a car you're not entirely happy with.

You guys ever get satisfied with the current state of your Celica?

I have so many plans for her... 3SGTE swap, coilovers, poly bushings, air-brake wing, GT-Four front end conversion, carputer tapped into the car PC for info + music player, LED tail lights, headlight projectors, dual exhaust tips, rear diffuser, front diffuser, fuel cell, roll cage, 18 inch sub in the back.

It scares and excites me at the same time, so long to go, yet at the end she will be a dream come true.
smile.gif

Maybe I'll be the only one to say this but my celicas will never be done an I'm happy with them the way they are till I can afford the next mod to them
Might as well enjoy what I have instead of being upset over what I dont

Thanks. I wasn't sure about the dip at first but it turned out pretty well.

Yeah I don't think black would look too good but I like the white.

If anybody has bad paint them I recommend trying this. It's not too hard to do and looks better than crappy paint.

Just swap it to standard, its pretty easy!

I would not call it easy, but with the right tools it doesn't have to be difficult; but holy Moses, it's still a process.

Going auto to manual is a pain in the ass, manual to auto is somewhat is easier. Personally I'd just sell the current car and replace it with a manual version, not worth the headache. I rather swap an engine than do a transmission conversion.

I feel like the swap would be easy. If I get a BEAMS longblock, I'll have a spare S54 to put in her car and then all I'd need are the cables, pedal, master and shifter assembly.

We went to look at it. For $1,200 it's totally worth it. It has less rust than my car does, has the 8 speaker stereo (with factory CD) has the factory alarm system. Is FEDERAL EMMISIONS!!! We drove it and it had a couple rattles and sounded like a bad bearing, but otherwise, it's got everything (Like this thing is fully loaded), is all original with no major damage (there is a slight dent along the rear driver panel near the light) and is really solid. No weird shakes or anything at highway speed (and that's on two bald tires lol. He's also including two tires)

The things I noticed it needed right off the bat were:

-New wheel bearing
-Valve cover gasket

That's it. He says it needs new ebrake cables... but it's an auto, so that can wait. The bearing I can do myself, same with the valve cover gasket. Seats are beat as hell, but everything else is nice inside. It's red with a tan leather interior just like Keiri's. It also has a 100% solid and functioning parcel shelf lol. The rear trunk plastics are unscratched too tongue.gif

Going to go look at it again on Thurs with a jack in hand so that I can see what the weird rattle in the rear is. At that point, we'll determine what we're going to do.

I've seen Celicas in a lot worse condition sell for $3k. I say go for it and do the tranny swap. If you can replace a clutch (and I know you can,) then you can do the manual conversion.

This is it's good side. Pretty pumped.

And if it ****s the bed, it's got parts that I'd more than gladly snag. It's fully freaking loaded. Every option you can think of, it has. Including the double din CD player.

Just depends, on some rear wheel drive cars it's a royal pain. Personally unless the car never came with a manual I don't see the point in putting forth the effort.

Looks like a good buy for $1,200. Horrendous colour though.

IMO, black wheels all look alike from a distance. So id rather have other colors that doesn't darken/blend in the wheel design.

Unless you're going for a blackout theme, I prefer anthracite myself.

I'd buy that for $1,200. Looks pretty good for the age and it being a northern car.
