Thanks man, the car is currently at the auto electrician since I have limited electrical experience... Hopefully it won't be too much and will be fixed soon... The coil is oil filled I think. Either that or the seal on the rotor shaft is allowing motor oil to seep in. |

Photos shall explain below: First, new dizzy is in, using the old cap because for some reason the NGK wires do not fit the new one >.< ![]() As I said, rotor was screwed: ![]() So was the dizzy itself: ![]() ![]() ![]() Total cost, $580; using Denso parts. Gotta love living in Australia... Those are rebuild-able if you can source the parts.

This wasn't economical to rebuild, for all the parts including labour it was going to be way more...
Anyway, the car was acting really slugish and wasn't accelerating well... Turns out the butterfly valve in the throttle body was sticking 2/3 open even when floored. Freed it up and now all my power is back! yay! No, the IAC does not increase the throttle when the AC kicks in
There are two Idle Up Control Valves, one for the AC and one for the power steering. The AC one is bolted to the passengerside of the intake manifold. It is a small electronic box with 2 or 3 hoses coming out of it, probably just to the rear of the vacuum diaphram on the end of the fuel rail. I had to replace mine, I could only find an ST one at the junkyard. It works perfectly but the mounting bracket is different. |
