You guysss are funnyyy!
And thanks Shannon! I can't wait to swap everything over from the other car! The dash and all the interior panels. Going to be a lot of work, but definitely worth it! |

Also, I found out that the 8 speaker setup just plugs into your existing harness. You only need to run 4 wires, 2 to each door, for the 8" speakers. I double checked all the wires and the pin outs and they are the same between both cars.
So I can't wait to install that as well as my alarm system ![]() |

Got done patching my brake lines today. Now I don't have to worry about them rusting out on the hangers for a while
![]() The passenger side line blew Tuesday and I decided it was just worthwhile to replace both lines under the car. Cut the sections out and put new sections in. The hardest....well actually it wasn't hard, but most annoying part was using the flare tool under there since there's not much room for play with the lines. Just have to rebleed them Sunday and it'll be all set! Next on my agenda; getting an alignment and putting the camber bolts in the front. I swapped out the OEM camber bolts in the rear for the aftermarket ones I got from Dustin and Steph. Made a big difference. I moved the OEM ones to the front, but quickly realized it would f*ck up my toe without an alignment. Those will hopefully go in next week. Definitely want to get another set of camber bolts for the rear though. They're probably just out of spec now, considering they were -3.5 and -3.0 degrees before the AM bolts. Otherwise, no other updates. Monday I'll be replacing all the seat belts in the car with the 96+ ones and taking out my harness bar for the winter. |

Have to fix my flares on the lines for a second time. NEVER BUY "OEM" BRAND CUTTING AND FLARING TOOLS. Literally the ****tiest pieces of sh.t I've ever bought. Which was two years ago when I was dumb and didn't think about buying good tools.
Learned that the cutter was cutting the pipe at an angle, which caused the flares to be angled, which cause it not to seat right on the fittings so it's leaking ever so slightly still ![]() As for an update, sold my CF riser blocks. Also, I'm saving up for some goodies over the winter. Looking to change things up in the spring ![]() |

So I came to the realization this past week that it's not worth constantly fixing her up. Between rust, parts rusting, things breaking, and whatever else, it's getting to the point where I need to get a more reliable car as a daily driver. I'll be saving my money up to get either a Subaru Forester or a WRX wagon, hopefully by the fall. I need something with more space and that is AWD.
Yeah, so nothing else coming for the Celica. Definitely going to try and sell a bunch of the random parts I have laying around in my shed lol. |

Sad to hear, Mike. I got to a point like that with mine several years ago, but I didn't have rust issues. You can't go wrong with a well kept WRX though.

Totally forgot to mention that I'm not getting rid of the car though... ![]() Just going to be off the road for a few years while I restore / build it. It's at the point where it's not worth fixing things because I'm going to be swapping it and building it. I have to do all the gas lines, get stuff for the gas tank, replacing both rear brake lines, replace the rear calipers, suspension bushings all around, fix the passenger side sub frame mount, and just so many other little things. I just started to question all the stuff that needs replacing because I'll probably end up having a fuel cell, which then it wouldn't make sense to replace the fuel lines and stuff for the tank. It's going to be AWD so why replace the calipers if I won't need them in a couple years? It came down to why buy all these new parts when I won't be needing them in the near-ish future? I would just be wasting money at that point. A lot of my friends have WRX's and they're really nice cars....and they're fun to drive ![]() |

yup, dont replace that now, to replace later, smart thinking. might as well save that money for the real deal, since you live up north, it might be a good idea to blast the parts you will keep, and repaint them while the car is down.

Should've kept one of those many clean shells you scraped and transfer the parts over. But hey, can't go wrong with an awd dd man!

Should've kept one of those many clean shells you scraped and transfer the parts over. But hey, can't go wrong with an awd dd man! None of them were clean though, that's why I didn't keep them. The silver one was a complete rust bucket, the blue one had a smashed quarter and a decent amount of rust underneath too (busted brake lines, rotting fuel lines), the red one was rusting out in the rockers and other areas, and the last one was rotting around the windshield and had rust in all the usual spots. I wouldn't have wanted to transfer the parts over anyway, this one is my baby and will always be my baby. I could have swapped things over to a different one and drove it, but it still would have problems, just like any car this age. Mainly, I need something reliable that I can take on long trips and commute to school with, and that has a lot of cargo room cause I always end up borrowing my parents car since nothing fits in the Celica. |

Thanks man, I appreciate it! In other news, finally got around to taking the valve cover off the 1mz. Doesn't look too bad for having 250,000 miles on it! ![]() You're doing a v6 swap too? Awesome. Lol. -------------------- |
