NEW PRICE -- $6000 OBO

The time has come to part ways with my 6GC. Many of you know me from a few years back. I've been gone from the site for a while but still have my car. Sadly, as I've grown older, I've found myself enjoying the car less and less, and finally have come to the realization that I've simply outgrown the car.

The car is a 99 GT with ~165K miles on it. I purchased it in July of 2005 with 114K miles on it, used it as a daily for a year, then sent it off to Dr. Tweak for a 2nd Gen 3S-GTE swap. The swap was done with 135K miles on the car. Since the swap was completed in July of 2006 there has only been 30K miles put on it, MOST of which came between 2006 and 2008. In late 2008 an accident happened that ended up putting the car as you see now, with the shaved handles, blended in DCW duckbill spoiler, and custom paint. After the car was finished with all the new fixings in May of 2009, it's only seen about 10K miles worth of use. I drove it daily last year for about 6 months over spring/summer/fall, and it's been driven once since.

About the car and the modifications:

Performance Stuff:
2nd Gen 3S-GTE (all new seals/timing belt installed when swap was done)
Spec 3S-5S Hybrid Stage II Clutch
Stock S54 5 Speed Trans
Custom FMIC Setup
Relocated AFM to under battery, 3" intake tube from AFM to turbo
Custom plug and play wiring extension for AFM (made by me)
HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve
GReddy Profec Spec-B Electronic Boost Controller
Perfect Power SMT6 piggyback ECU
Ebay Downpipe
CUSTOM FABRICATED 3" Exhaust w/Magnaflow Resonator and Muffler
TRD Quick Shifter with TRD Shift Knob

Interior:
Kenwood DDX-812 7" DVD system
Red/Black Carbon fiber accents (mostly stick on pieces, couple of custom wrapped pieces I did myself)
DCW Gauge Cluster Cover with smoked glass -- 2nd one ever made after Dustin Brown's.
DCW Triple Gauge Pod
Autometer Nexus Boost/Vac, Oil Pressure, and Oil Temp Gauges ($1K in gauges/controller)
Doggy E-Brake Boot w/red stitching
Doggy Shift Boot w/red Stitching
Doggy Armrest Cover w/red Stitching and custom Red "Devil Horn Toyota" Logo embroidered on it.
JDM Aluminum Door Sills

Exterior
Custom Paint. Base red with copper pearl metallic clear coat mixed in.
Shaved Door Handles
Projector Headlights and Highs (lows have been modified for flat cutoff)
Shaved front turn signals, using markers in Projector lamps for turns
Black Devil Horn Toyota Logo's from Likwid Art
Tenzo R DC5 18x8 Wheels with GOOD Nitto NeoGen 225/40-18 tires
Red Powdercoated Brake Calipers all the way around with Napa rotors and EBC Redstuff Pads
Tein S-Tech Springs (LEGIT, bought from shop that did the exhaust)
JDM Tail Lights
Molded in DCW Duckbill Spoiler
DCW SSIII Splitters front and rear
DDM Tuning 55W HID in the projectors

The Bad (Keep in mind that I'm VERY critical of my car/work): The front splitters are rough. Both have been cracked and repaired/refinished, but it shows. They look good and fine until you get up on them.

There is a scratch in the front right fender that I filled as best as possible, and there are normal chips here and there from daily driving (one on the drivers mirror and one on the passenger high beam area right by the lamp come to mind, but both have been filled with paint). The paint on the car is still VERY VERY good and it still turns heads everywhere.

The wheels have all had a tiny bit of rash on them but it's painted over and you can't see it unless you're really looking for it.

Shocks are due for replacement as they rattle a bit, but I've not done it because I kept intending to do coilovers.

Oil leak that leaves a few drops where you park, I believe from the pan.

Underside dirty with old oil residue, there was a crack in the soft return line from the turbo and it was sending just enough out to cover everything.

*Edit* Cruise lever is broken and currently removed. Looking for a replacement, but it's a hard find.

Right now, things I'm doing or will be doing unless the car sells quickly.

Currently has a new radiator going in it. Car will be running again by the end of this week (was moving to a twin core full aluminum, but backed off of that due to extreme clearance issues caused by the thickness). This WILL be completed this week.

I have a set of GT4 front calipers I've been meaning to install forever. I'm hoping to get to this within the next few weeks. On or off, they will be sold with the car either way.

Trying to get to doing the shocks but it's not a necessity.

The car will come with a binder I've kept with ever receipt for everything I've put into it. Let's just say that the 3" binder is FULL, and total is in excess of $25K invested into the car AFTER the purchase price of $7500 in 2005. Everything is documented. Also, the 2010 6GC.Net Calendar will be included, as this car was in it and was also the cover car. She's solid as a rock. Zero rust on the rockers or anywhere else. It's a head turner, and though I still run with a primarily domestic sports/muscle car crowd, they all enjoy the car when I bring it out. Motor is solid, made 250 WHP/260 WTQ when the swap was done. I just don't want to invest more to try to make it faster. I'm selling because the money here is going to go towards a buyback of the twin turbo 99 Corvette I was forced into selling in 2010.

Pricing is hard. There's a LOT of money invested, and yes, I do realize you don't recoup money invested in modifying cars. I will NOT take a total bath on the car either though. I'm going to start the price as asking a negotiable $9000. I have a bottom dollar in mind, so don't be afraid to talk to me about it.

Lastly, I want to thank everyone here for letting me be a part of this community. I've met a lot of great people, seen a lot of beautiful cars, and really enjoyed my time here. Who knows, I may be back (want to RWD and 5.3LS convert a 6th Gen......that would be fun).......

Pictures:

Car is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Is currently unregistered, but that may change shortly. If you don't like my price, please don't comment. The car is worth every penny of my bottom dollar if not more. I would be willing to meet a purchaser halfway depending on distance. I trust this car to take ANY road trip also. It's been literally one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned.

She's coming out this weekend to Cars and Coffee in Fort Wayne. First time I've taken the car out since April sadly.

Beautiful car man. Love the paint. That's the same color I'm painting my 22B clone. 7,500 is a freaking steal. Wish I had more car fund money.

Thanks! I just wish someone could come up with the money.

FYI people, PLEASE quit asking me if I'll sell this or that off the car separately. I am not parting ANYTHING out off the car separate.

You never know. I don't expect it to sell in the dead of winter, but I have to keep trying.

And to reiterate. I AM NOT PARTING A SINGLE ITEM OFF OF THE CAR, PLEASE QUIT ASKING, ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE TRD SHIFTER.

I keep coming back here and by now I have to admit it's a nice shade of red actually.

Everyone here is broke or in a Supra though, parting out would increase the odds of selling as you could lower the price with each part sold. If it were me I'd give eBay a few tries and then would consider a mild part out if you can't sell it whole on eBay for what you want. Just something to think about anyway. Yes in actuality it's worth every penny and then some, but finding someone that'd choose a FWD car over a LS car or the like will be hard. Hell you're selling it to get back a Corvette, I rest my case. tongue.gif Anyhow best of luck again, maybe someone will buy it soon as a Xmas gift or the like.

There's nothing to part out though. If I start pulling parts off the car I'm left trying to sell a horribly incomplete vehicle. Not gonna happen. I know its a hard sell given the demographics of the typical 6th Gen owner/enthusiast (no offense meant to anyone at all), and I'm not hard pressed to sell it either. Would I like to see it go soon? Sure. Will it break me? Nope.

I understand, I'd hate to part out the pieces of the car I worked hard to put together and then not be able to sell it still. Then you're worse off than you were to begin with. I'd still give eBay a shot though as you'll greatly increase the potential buyers, do it as a Buy It Now Or Best Offer with an instant deposit required so that way no jerks get you stuck with fees out of your own pocket.

When I was buying my car (Around 1200 miles away from memory) the shipping was too expensive so I flew down ($100) and drove it back over a couple of days (Fuel + $60-100/night motels). Where there's a will there's a way!

Can't believe this hasn't sold... as a lump sum of cash it isn't cheap, but when you consider that you can easily spend $3-5k on a basket case of a 3S swap that doesn't run right and has dodgy paint this car is quite good value...... And TRD shifter tongue.gif

I'm curious where you guys are getting your shipping estimates. Granted it was a decade ago, but I had a car I purchased shipped from Oregon to New Jersey and it only cost me $1K. IN to TX should be no more than $600-700 max I'd think. Or fly in, I can pick you up at the airport (Indianapolis is the cheapest closest to me), and the car is solid for a road trip.

I'll probably put it on ebay here soon, been meaning to do that. Kind of have my eye on something (low mile 96 LT4 CE Corvette for DIRT, and I mean DIRT cheap) to tide me over for a while and this selling would go a LONG way towards that.

My step-dad recently had a Corvair shipped from somewhere up north for around $500 to here. Though he bought a second one in Texas and everyone wanted $1,000 or more, so he just went and got it himself. Some companies charge more for cars that won't run, or if they're too low, etc... and anything else that causes hassle. Really anyone would be better off buying a one-way ticket and driving it back home. With fuel being as cheap as it is now this would be the time, make a road trip out of it even.

That would be a concern if mine was to be shipped. With the SSIII splitters and S-Tech springs it loses a lot of clearance.

But again, car is solid for a road trip. One way tickets are cheap!

Exactly, could probably fly out and drive it home for just a few hundred. That or you could do a rental that it doesn't matter which of their locations you drop it back off. Definitely some cheaper alternatives to shipping, plus you don't have to worry about some gorilla messing it up.

Shoot, I think I'd even be willing to deliver the car on a closed sale too, depending on location of course.

She's lonely. Hiding in the garage on the float charger. Needs a new home........otherwise I'll end up yanking the motor and doing something horrible but awesome (RWD 5.3 LS conversion anyone? biggrin.gif )
