Hi,
I am building a 1979 Toyota Corolla Sr Coupe with a gen 2 3sgte in it. Things that I have done to date on the engine include: Oil return lines from the head as it sits vertically, oil pick up and sump modifications, new intake plenum, new top mount exhaust manifold, big top mounted fuel rail, currently have 565cc injectors, front mounted intercooler, Link G4 Storm computer, drop tank in the rear with surge tank, bigger fuel pump, and a couple other small bits and pieces. Car will be mainly for street, with some track days here and there. I have got this far and am now looking at the ct26 turbo and thinking I should get something a little better. My power goals are as much as possible (so around 300rwhp from what I have read) without opening up the engine and spending large amounts of $$ putting in forged components- not yet anyway. So my question is where do you recommend I go with the turbo? I dont have thousands to fork out for something special at the moment so am thinking of making an OEM turbo work. Im currently considering a td05 off of an evo 3. Its cheap, apparently goes very well and can be upgraded. Wanted a twin scroll evo 4+ turbo but getting one to mount up would be a nightmare. TD05 the right track or maybe a td06? Cant get my hands on a ct20b- never even seen one for sale, so please dont suggest that. I am yet to make a downpipe and my exhaust manifold can be modified- so not to worried about different flanges etc.. Thanks |
