Hey guys new celica owner trying to get my car into running condition. The front and rear motor mounts are bad and I'm having a problem with the rear mount. I have it unboled but when I try to remove it hits on the rack and pinion. I read that I may need to unbolbolted the suffrage to to get it out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The car is a 1994 gt with a manual transmission. |

yeah you might have to drop the K rail. with both the front and rear unbolted, you should be able to rock the engine enough to swap them out

I've been waiting until the weather got better to attempt mine, but from what I've seen / read, the EASIEST way is to remove 1 or 3 bolts from the cross beam underneath (subframe?) that's covering the rear mount and swing it out of the way.
Here's a vid this guy did a while back. I'll take a look and see if I can locate the other really good vid I saw a while back. If you can take, vids for the rest of us who are going to do this. Pleeeaasseee. |

Sorry for not replying guys, I thought I would get a notification when people replied but never got one. I ended up removing the bracket on the engine itself and the mount came off easily after that. My problem now is that I spun a bearing somehow and now my car is dead.
I don't know if I should start a new post but does anyone know if the 5sfe from a 1992 will swap into the 1994? It's supposed to be the same engine and their both on obd1 so I'd assume they fit. A guy crashed his and is selling the whole car for 600 so I want to use that to bring my car back alive. |

yeah, I put two jacks one under the motor and one under the transaxle so that I could remove the center member the motor mounts attach to. You'll want to get the car up in the air as high as your jackstands will get you. And even then its still a real bitch.
