Well i ended up needing more to repair for the brakes then i hoped for mad.gif . But I actually have a photo of everything:

well if ya gotta do it.... try yourself. The parts should only be 300-400 all together and its really not all that hard.

Rotors (rear-disc covert. or just replace drums) woot!
Pads
Cylinders

sounds like a saturday afternoon project to me. est time 2 hours.

whats sad thought is that..$800 is just non-performance parts. Oh ya I have no clue how to do anything w/ brakes frown.gif

Man is your mechanic bending you over.. it shouldnt be near that.. just go somewhere that does breaks, an also get your rotors replaced.. it should be half that, or you could learn your self, and it should be a third..

I guess so frown.gif Do You guys know the best place with low S&H and low prices for performance parts? There autozone near me is going through a dealer change so they cant get anything for another 2 weeks.

My car is now just going to sit in the driveway. Since when I tried to take it out today it was making this horrible rotating sound in the front. So I don't want to take anymore chances.

i would take it to some different shops for more opinions. that looks like he is ripping you off. your wheel cylinders dont need to be replaced if they are not leaking. i am almost 100% sure he is trying to rip you off. i have been working on cars for 3 years now and have never seen a car need all those things at one time. he pretty much named every easy part to replace (he would make a TON of money on you car if you let him do it).

tire rack will have good prices for the parts you need
as for rear rotors...try your local toyota dealer, and just tell them ur car is a GT smile.gif
brake pads can come witha lifetime warranty but the trick is to buy two as you have to send in the old ones to get the new ones. So to kill having a "down time" just put your 2nd pair on while new ones are in the mail smile.gif

Your not going in asking for accessories, You need to go in and request specific parts through the part department. They can get whatever you want, if you can afford it.

If you want rotors.... goto Ebay... pick up some vented discs for the front. These will work fine for daily driving as long as you dont auto-cross. Go to Autozone/ Advanced Auto/ Walmart ... and get new pads for the front along with new brake pads for the drums in the rear. Take off your drums and take them to a dealership. Have them grind them down a bit and make them a little more level. Your looking at 1/2 hour labor. Not bad. Once you have the drum/rotors off ... check to see if the little cylinders are leaking. If so, replace them. Simple as pluging them in where the old ones were. If not, leave them. Put the new pads on, close the drum and put the rotor on and new pads there and your done. A saturday afternoon project. Spend MAYBE 300. And you get to play with your car.

Also, that squeaking sound is the warning pin the the pad letting you know its getting low. You may not even have to get new rotors. It could just be pads........ which is my guess. New pads all the way around will cost about 80-100 bucks for the best. 1 Hour project, if that. Most anyone who has any clue about cars should be any to help. Its about as difficult as changing oil.

Does the squeaking stop when you break? If so... the above is true.
