Just so that you know, the BEAMS 3S-GE found in late model ST202 Celicas doesn't have VVTL-i. It just has VVT-i. wink.gif

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

The 98-99 Celica 3S-GE "BEAMS" engine with VVT-i is one of the most amazing engine in the world.

You need to do a bit more than simply disconnecting the front drive to make the AWD celica a RWD drift car. The GT4 drivetrain focuses more power to the front wheels, so there will be a big huge loss in the tranny unless you can re-gear completely to focus directly to the rear wheels.

ahh...wrong...its 50/50...give or take a few percent. Dynoed both my friends and mine on an AWD dynoyet and it can measure output on fron wheels and rear wheels. Its a true 50/50 split.

is it? I'm surprised. With a typical transverse AWD set-up, it almost ALWAYS transfer more power to the front than the rear. something like 60/40 or even less to the rear. Either way... there will still be a huge drivetrain loss unless you completely re-gear...

I saw it w/ my own eyes. I think it still had the tranny hooked up too and the harness. The only kinda bad thing is that it was about 3 weeks ago. He hadnt tolld anyone yet. But call and find out.
