What are u talking about, Subs make a big dif no matter what power. Mine are rated at 400 rms each, but i prolly never use them over maybe 100, and it makes so much dif. even a 200 watt sub would change the whole sound of your system.

you dont have aenough cubic capacity in those boxes,if you dont listen to me,try porting them and stuffing the boxes with cotton wool[from insid a pillow] and turn the subs the other way,i made my install in my corsa from 3/4 mdf,but with you boxes being too small 1/2 will be ok but if you subs dont sound that great dont blame the amp, blame the boxes, try them ou before you paint/glass them,im makin my boxes and boot build too,i'll try and send pics of my corsa boot, its the best boot in town i tell thee

ya i know all that im going to carpet the inside to make it seem like more room and im haveing this buddy that owns a stereo company make it sound good. i just didnt want to pay for him to make it,

W3V2's are Very nice subs. great for SQ and a little SQL, with only a 100rms each you can get great results from them, you do not have to have a subs Full rms to make them reach full performance... SPL subs need that, not SQ and SQL subs, giving a sub its full rms can either be bad or good, depending on how the gainsare set. with only 75rms them W3V2's can reach full excursion...he will be fine..... although the box is a little weird shaped (doesnt matter how a box is shaped as long as it meets the specs) its probably around 1cf. which the subs will do fine in the box, as they said, i hope you didnt use actual nails because the box will soon come apart. use deck screws, they go in real easy and work very well....also pre drill with a bit smaller than the screws.... for sealent use liquid nails or clear silicone.... inverting the subs will not make any difference on the sounds, only the looks.... that will also be dangerous if he puts anything back there... Exile is better off putting them in regular and putting some grills over them to protect them from anything he puts back there. putting cotton in a box makes the subs think the box is really bigger than it is. when you put the subs in the box and you think they need more room, try putting some in.... anyway thats all i got, LaTeR

i guess you guys are all about looks, if you want max performance from your subs fiberglass isnt the way to go. it will not with stand alot of power like MDF will. but i guess its up to yourself to decide what you want to use..

Incorrect. Fiberglass is very, very strong, especially in curves, and can be made just as strong as MDF boxes with far less thickness(and weight.) wink.gif

Now if you were making a fiberglass sub box with lots of flat spots, it'd make sense to use MDF in those flat spots(or use rope or something to create curves; Curves = strength with fiberglass.)

And also, you don't need 300 watts RMS for subs. Maybe for something horribly inefficient, but I've had my ears hurting from one of my subs running 150 watts RMS. And that sub wasn't even efficient really. Remember, every time you double the wattage, you're only gaining approximately 3 db of volume.

fiberglass gets stronger with the more layers you put on it, i am a traditional guy and i do not like fiberglass period. ill always stick with 3/4 MDF... just a matter of opinion.
