Has anyone performed a port and polish on the 5S-FE? and what gains and/or problems did you have?

I haven't done it...but its on my list of things to do.

Same here. I think that if I don't get a 3s I'm going to build the **** out of my 5s.

i'm planning on modding up my 5sfe as much as possible, how much do you think a port and polish would cost?

I think it's around 300-500 dollars. What do you have done? What are your plans?

It would be HELLA high liek Wilson said around 300-500 but do you think its worth it. I would If I was going to run nitous or a turbo but, I dont think there would be much gain just N/A. But ya never know!

If I do a P&P I think it will be the last thing I do. With a P&P it compliments everything else that you have done to your car. Alone I don't think it will do much if anything.

well guys im talking to a few shops right now about the gains of a mild port and polish i ve got a 7afe so if i get at lest an extra 90 or so hp ill do it and let you know how it feels

90 HP out of a PORT AND POLISH?

no at most a port and polish will give you 5- 10 hp, maybe more if it's heavily modded, i plan on doing it after a while cause i will be getting a burien/trd turbo, but that's really the only reason why, i think it would be kind of pointless to do it if your engine is not heavily modded.

I know thats what I was saying. I figured on the 5sfe with Intake, Ehuast, maybe pully and igniton you might gain 10-15 hp out of a P and P but prob not even that so whay do it? UNLES YOU HAVE TURBO or running NOS

A very good P&P is susposed to give you around a 40% gain. That is as long as you have all the other stuff to help it out such as intake, exhaust, header, plugs, wires, ect. ect. ect...

So are oyu sayign you would gain around 30-40 HP?

Thats the idea. With everything done to your car it helps your car breath so much better. The more air the more the performance. Get the idea.

Yea i understand that its jus hard to see gaining that much I guess. But the concept your talking about is very true!

It is alot to swallow but thats what I've been told at many different shops.

Soooooo who does teh actual work?

The shop that I trust sends it out to a specialist to have it done. They do an entire overhal on the engine not just the TB and IM.

So basically they have to have the whole car right?

Yes, I hould drop it off and they would have it for about 2 weeks.
