So I rode in a turbo'd civic si running 11pounds of boost, very quick and nice car. Rode in a stock evo VIII, a modded evo VIII with about 330 hp, and a stock gti 1.8t. All very nice rides.

Also watched a supra with 650 hp race a srt4 with 450 hp, the guy in the is a good driver and last week he ran a 6.7 115 1/8 mile. The supra won both time but the srt4 hung right in and didn't lose by much.

Man I need my 3sgte!

12 second cars feel a lot faster then 13 sec for some reason. 12's will really rock you

Well I realize you have a WRX, so you know all about the blistering speed of a 14 sec car. But if your around any well built up drag cars, you'll know 12 to 13 is a night and day difference. But speed is realative. It's all in what ur use to.

Cause the amount of additional power needed to go from 13 seconds to 12 seconds is pretty ridiculous...

Speed is not all relative to what you are used to. A 12 or 13 second car is fast, no matter what you drive. Fast is fast, that is my point. You were basically saying that a 12 second car is faster than a 13 second car, well duh, that is what I was talking about when I said "yeah go figure that one". Your butt dyno has nothing to do with how fast a car is, it may have a deal to do with how it feels to you but in the long run, it means nothing. A crap load of power is needed to go a complete second faster in a car, that or a 1/2 ton of weight reduction or there about's, it's one of those "No S*** Sherlock" Kinds of things wink.gif

For $5,000 you can go to Frank Hawley's Drag School and learn to drive the 5 second alcohol cars, and earn an NHRA license in the process or for $1,750 you can run in the Super Comp dragsters that run 9's.

It's very much relative. You get use to a 13 sec car to the point where it feels slow. I'm not aruging this anymore, you're entitled to your opinion and it doesn't agree with mine. Big shock

The amount of additional hp may be significant to increase by a second depending on car. If it was so easy to drop a second, everyone would do it. The faster you get, the harder (really, more expensive) it is to drop time. You should know that.

All I have to say to you is you really need to learn about the concept of power and speed. Speed is not defined as how fast a car feels, it's how fast the car is going. Your butt may tell you one thing, but the truth is that the car may not be going as fast as you think. Speed is NOT RELATIVE! It is a set thing, it's how fast you go between two points over a certain amount of time, hence M/H (Ratio of distance over time) or MPH or Miles Per Hour, not how fast you think you are going. If we all measured speed by how fast we feel we are going, we wouldn't ever get in trouble by police. Nobody gets off a ticket by saying "Well it felt like ___", good lord man.

Just to put it at rest, you can feel acceleration, you can't feel speed.

Didn't you take physics?

Edit: Also, if you ride your bike down a hill going 25MPH it feels like you are going much faster since you are on such a small object, if you were in a big ass truck you would feel like you were doing 10MPH it's not relative.

It's like riding in a Mustang GT with a stick then driving the auto, the stick feels powerful and the auto is sluggish but they run pretty close as far as times go.

Anub1s why does it seem that most of your posts come across as arrogant? It's kinda tiring... If im not mistaken SlowCelica94's original point wasnt that a 12 second car is way faster than a 13 sec. car, it was that a 12 second sec. car feels sigificantly different than a 13 sec. car... I dont think its a no brainer that there would be a big difference either, seeing as most people havent even been in cars that fast to compare the difference...

scary and fun

all in one four wheeled package

my WRX puts distance on a stock WRX almost as though they are not moving, especially in the upper rpms and 3rd, 4th, and 5th

my car now feels slow to me, and pretty much every other car on the road is slow/very slow. partly because of some of the other cars i have gotten rides in or even driven, but mostly because i drive it nearly every day. its not until i get in my mazda that i realize how much and for how long i have to gas the car to get up to speed.

my 2 cents

making a 18 second car into a 17 second car is easy, very easy

making a 14 second car into a 13 second car starts getting hard

making a 13 second car into a 12 second car is hard

the faster the car is, the more power it takes to shave the same amount of time off the 1/4 time. my car makes a lot more power than a stock WRX, to make my car into a 12 second car, its gonna take me thousands of $, i could do it for under $1k, but my plans are bigger than 12's

Find you a Supra turbo in a junk yard that has been wrecked blown up and caught on fire, then sink $10G maybe $12 grand and have the parts over nighted from Japan, you'll have a 10 second car in a couple of days. j/k
