there really isint a plain way to adjust it since its ecu controled. the best thing you can do is check the ignition timing -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

You can also kind of do a little with the cable that hooks the butterfly. There's and apparatus there that can be adjusted, but it's mostly up to your ECU.

QUOTE(97lestyousay @ Sep 12, 2005 - 9:40 PM) Why can't you just reposition cam for throttle cable at throttle body? your throttle position sensor will throw a code if you do that -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Hmm.. I guess I'll just have to mess around with things. I'll try and figure something out. My idle is a tad high.

It goes from 1200 to 1400. It doesn't bounce. Sometimes it sits at 1200, then at times it sits at 1400. Maybe a vacuum hose might be causing the high idle? But usually it bounces when a vacuum hose is wrong right? So I don't know. I'll try and check the ignition timing though.

check the ecu for any codes ... it sounds like your car isint going into idle at all
on the throttle body there is an idle sensor (i forget the name). its commone for it to get dirty and cause problems or fail. but it could be anything really ..hard to tell without looking at the car -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

I think I found the problem. The ignition timing was a little off but I adjusted that. That wasn't the problem though. I just have to plug a couple of things in then see what happens. Gotta finish changing the clutch first though.

It could also be a bad EGR- Haynes does make a manual and you can pick em up at autozone for about $15 i like it |

isn't idle only adjusted by ECU on the OBDII versions?

I just swapped my old 7afe with one with 2ok miles on it and it did exactly the same thing as what you're talking about-oddly enough it went away and idles at the correct rpms- i guess the ecu just adjusted whatever it was and it worked. another thing you can do to check for vacuum line leaks is spray starter fluid all over your engine and if it revs up really high then you've got a vacuum line leak-don't worry though, starter fluid evaporates really quick so it wont stay all over your engine-hope this essay helps!
