Ok, So I was driving the celi pretty fast when The light turned Yellow. I shifted it into 2nd gear and gassed it around the corner making a right turn. Well, as I was driving down the street a cop pulled me over so I stopped at a liquor store. As it turns out, I didn't have my insurance card with me today so I got screwed over. The ****ty cop also charged me with running a stop light when It was yellow. Saying a bunch of crap about how I didn't fully stop to make my right turn. Anyways, these are my first two tickets since I started driving when I was 16 (Im like 20 Now).
My court date is on the 20th of Jan and its not like it matters anyway. Its just so that I can prove to the judge I do have insurance anyways. Anybody know how much it is for running a red light? The no insurance is gonna be $25 at least thats what I was told.

Stupid cops, they are so useless from protecting the people, but very useful in extorting money from the people.

No offense, but wtf are u complaining about? You were speeding, and you sped up to go through a yellow light, which is illegal. Dont get mad at a cop for doing his job.

Perhaps he should do a better job next time such as reporting to a crime scene or helping those in need of protection rather than sit on his ass all day and wait to catch people who are in need of a hurry to go home and help out a stupid sick and illed father who burned all your celica car stuff cause he felt like it. mad.gif

As much as I hate cops. I still respect them.. Reason being they are the one saving my ass if I'm ever getting shot at on a emergancy scene. So stop your bitchin' and man up. It happens 2 everyone, but you don't see everyone that gets a ticket post it on their community forum hoping for sympathy.

i know your upset cause you got caught braking the law....

yellow light means slow down . NOT speed up... so if you see a yellow light and don't have time to stop it means you are speeding ... and look at the back of your insurance card.. is says keep with you at all time while operating your car... the cop didn't do anything wrong you did... so take it like a man...

no as for court you should be fine with the insurance .. just bring your card with you to show you are/where an insured driver at the time you got the ticket... as for the other one... your just going to have to suck that up .. unless your town has a pay/no points system .. where if you pay the ticket and extra charge so you get no points ..

its more of a judgement call ... if the person has time to stop .. yes.. but if a person is crossing right when the light changes then no .... but the strang thing is that if your doing the speed limit.. you shoulld have time to stop .. and if you don't then your braking the law by speeding

Because thats what he's good at. And, he was at a crime scene. Your violations seem to be breaking the law, which would make it a crime, does it not?

FIRST, If there had been something really important such as a crime scene that required his service, he would have been there. Do really think that cops are out there going "What's that? A robbery and police chase? Actually, I think I'm just gonna sit here and wait for someone to run a red." ? Let's use a little common sense now.

SECONDLY, do you know how many people, children included, have been seriously injured/killed by people trying to beat a red light? You were posing a risk to yourself, and anyone who may have been around you. Man up, take the ticket, and learn from your mistakes.

Cops don't get paid to sit around. They do patrol or traffic when they're not on a call. It just so happens you got caught when a cop was on traffic duty. Think about it, if cops didn't do traffic duty, then there would be tons of traffic accidents.

Rule of thumb: If a light turns yellow, and you can't stop without slamming on your brakes, by all means, go through. If you're far enough that you have time to stop, then stop.

On right-hand turns on red, you MUST make a complete stop first and proceed when it is safe to do so.

traffic cops have quota's that they have to meet each month (so I heard from a friend of mines who is a cop) you were just at the wrong place while doing the wrong thing at the wrong time.. laugh.gif laugh.gif ... I got a ticket about 60 months back that cost me 40 bucks for going 42 in a 35 zone..LOL rolleyes.gif

Thats not nessisarily true. It depends on the city. Cops around here had a quota for a while, and it sucked, they were pulling over EVERYONE for the stupidest crap. But most stations don't have quotas.

Anyway, people need to stop bashing. Soulshadow was a little ridiculous in his accusations against cops, but he just got a ticket, and was pissed, and everyone else doesn't need to rub his nose in it, eh? rolleyes.gif

yellow lights actually mean "clear the intersection" that's why if you're in the middle of an intersection turning left, and the light turns yellow you're not running it.

i know cuz i've taken that [dmv] driver improvement class 2x! haha but yea i got a ticket just like that but i ran a red (yellow) and sped up to 68 getting onto the parkway. cost me about $174 for both tickets

and about $20 extra per month on my insurance. mad.gif but i survived.
