This place is bursting with knowledge about anything and everything under the sun that has to do with the Celica. When I came here I was treated kindly, even though my questions were probably the most basic of questions. I am so glad I found this place. I don't know what I would be doing if I hadn't.

I <3 6GC!!

(Think of this as Spring Cleaning wink.gif )

I've been a member on this forum since the year 2002, one of the old timers......and I agree with everything Christian had to say. I encourage people to ask questions and hope others will answer them. I don't post much because I can usually find everything I need to know on this site through others asking the same questions I have. Even if someone asks the exact same question, for some reason......I notice that there is always new information for them. So yeah, don't bash on people regardless of what they're asking.......maybe someone else have the same question too. I myself will continue to contribute to this site, I hope others will do the same and stop the hate.

Well, I see that you are saying that the web is getting worser because of people flipping out. But common just go and look at honda forums and you will see that on here we have way better people. I dont ever remember reading a reply "USE SEARCH" or "NOOB" on this forum. Keep it up, I love the layout of this forum smile.gif

Well said coomer , shame you had to eventually say it though .
I use this site more than the mainly british site because its so much better , the people are nicer and a lot more informative !
Somebody needs to do the same with toyotaownersclub.com because its even worse , the people(well a small minority) just hate any mods you do etc etc ..... its gone right downhill frown.gif

I still believe we have the best website of any car make/model biggrin.gif and we need to keep it that way

I'm like CelicaSTX02, I've been a member since the site first started and seen it grow from a handful of 6GC owners who posted on one forum at celica.net (not that makes me better than the guy who joined yesterday). I hardly ever post, but I've been reading almost everything thats been posted over the years and have definatly noticed the slump the forums have been in. I hope everyone takes the time to read this thread and really takes it to heart, coomer couldn't be more right!

I've seen some of the most knowlegeable and helpful members come and go, I'd hate for us to loose some due to such childish behavour. Just remember why we are all here, we all share the same passion regardless of our knowledge level or joined date.

RE: 4. Please refrain from posting pointless posts, such as posts that are just smilies or posts that say stuff like "I'm with stupid" or "Page 2 Owned!"). This includes sarcastic posts about making fun of someone's car, or playful arguing with one another in a thread. These posts simply take over threads and turn them into useless garbage. Remember, the point of these forums is to discuss the sixth generation Celica.

What if someone says "hey what do you guys think of: so and so..."? Personally I like to give a thumbs up maybe or thumbs down because I'm simple and honest, is this going to be a problem?

I love this site biggrin.gif

I do see some negativity tho around it and it does put a negitave vibe in ya when you read it... Thats what I've noticed anyways...

I hope to see that put to an end too... cuz I dunno there's been times where I didnt wanna post things cuz I was a little afraid of getting ripped apart...

So I really hope your letter gets the point out, coomer smile.gif But I have a good feeling it did thumbsup.gif

I think Coomer is refering to pointless gifs or posts. A thumbsup.gif or thumbsdown.gif is fine.

Or you could post something like

Awesome thumbsup.gif

If you dont like something just dont reply to the thread. Thats the best response to something you dont like, just ignore it.

I too am a member that has been here since the start. I also have noticed the unneeded comments here and there, and will welcome the return to the days when everyone were friends and just wanted to help each other out.

Although i must say it was not at all unexpected. People on the internet seem to think that if they can say it, then they must. Then they seem to hide behind the mantra; "well thats who i am, i just speak my mind." I doubt they would be as frank to a stranger they have just met in person.

Don't mean to be rude, but this is right up your alley Supersprynt.

I Agree wholly with this entire post! Thanks for letting it all out Croomer.

you know Celicaca this is the kind of stuff Coomer is talking about, there was NO need for you to make a comment to Supersprynt.

I think it is all a good idea Coomer.

just my 2 cents,

none of my post has never been unanswered and none of my pm either.

and the more experienced guys are always so willing to help,

those that complain, they seem to forget that when others come to seek their help in their own line of expertise, and the person doesn't do the basic research, they get pissed too, so b4 u comment on this forum and the general attitude, sit down and be in others shoes.

i'm not the most knowledgablf of members but this site is the only site for 6th gens. i havent found anywhere else on the net with this much knowledge and ideas flowing from it. I agree with my short membership here there has been ups and downs but if i have any questions about anything, with research, I can find the answer, most of the time more in depth than i even thought. LOL this site should be my homepage because i go here automatically when i get on the net at home, at school, and now on my road trip in Wyoming(pics soon). KEEP UP THE GREAT SITE/WORK

I've also been around this site since its very early days, which is about four years it looks like. This has always been a very friendly and helpful site, and I've learned and grown along with the site.

I can remember back when stuffing a 3SGTE under the hood seemed impossible, and when turboing the 5SFE and 7AFE was virgin territory for us guys, and finding yourself a good bodykit was pretty tough. Now theres members converting to AWD and new swaps being done all the time, and several members who offer their services and skills to fellow members as their job.

It has certainly changed alot from the early days. Lets all take Coomer's advice and become better members and contributers and make this place just like it used to be.....its come a long way and can only get better. smile.gif

I have been a member of this site for a VERY long time and have noticed the dramatic change as well. I really hope your message is taken to heart by everyone and this site returns to the status it was years ago.
