Bump Hope everyone else is still able to make it. I keep making comments or questions on this meet cause I have never been to a 6th Gen (or MR2) meet. Later!

haven't been on in a while.....last I heard everyone was meeting up in Charlottesville, Va........ is this true??
Have ya'll picked a place to meet in town yet?? If not let me know I might be able to talk to my store manager and we can maybe use our parking lot if it's gonna be later in the afternoon.

I just sent "defgegh" (Jeff) a PM about this. He is supposedly the co-organizer of the meet. I attended UVA, but graduated in 2000, so I know the UVA area fairly well, but I trust you in picking a meeting place since you still live there.

I am now whoring this thread, but this event is less than two weeks away, and I don't have a good feeling about WHO is actually coming, if you have a HOTEL ROOM, WHERE we will be meeting in Charlottesville? WE NEED TO GET ORGANIZED. Bill Strong is the guy organizing the MR2 group (see link below), and they have a specific meeting point in Charlottesville, and probably all have hotel reservations. I am going to get the specific meeting location from Bill. They have been doing this since 2001.

If this does not turn into a huge group of Celicas, then we CAN travel with the MR2s. Bill Strong says that it is not limited to MR2s. I strongly suggest you read his event link below for details. He has a lot of good suggestions about what to bring and his rules.

Since we are not that organized at this point, we should probably just meet up with the MR2 group.

by the look of their map it looks like they are meeting either at the elementry school off of rt.20 or in the monticello high school, maybe even the food lion parking lot. The turns down through monticello and past kluge's really aren't that bad......they are alot of fun and if you know the roads you can really push it too the limit through there, Also you cross over fluvanna and albermarle county lines alot in those 10-15 miles, I personally haven't seen very many police through there and when you do they are either headed to work or going home.

YES, I emailed Bill Strong (the organizer for the MR2s) and they are meeting in the parking lot across from Monticello High School off of Rt 20. The below google link gives a better close up versus the pic he has on the strong-stock.com site (the meeting location is off Mill Creek Drive and Parham Circle in the middle of the map). Remember guys, if you want to roll with the Bill Strong MR2 group, you have to be at least 18 years of age and he will check your car over to make sure it can make this event! He has at least 40 cars already! I am not sure what time in the morning they are meeting on Fri, May 5, but you can join www.mr2oc.com and find the thread about this event (also linked on the strong-stock.com site). MR2 Meeting Location

Looks to me that they are meeting in the Food Lion parking lot, which is just past Monticello High School. I hope that they got permission to do so. Albermarle Co. police don't like it too much and they will take your car and tow it away if you don't leave when they ask you too. Trust me, I live here and there is no where to hang out! If there are too many imports in one place the police are soon to follow (like the car wash....they chase us off everynight and we are washing our cars....) Also another tip.......Albermarle Co. is BIG on loud exhaust and tint......keep that in mind when you're coming into town. Everyone have fun and be safe! Hopefully I will be able to come out and see everyone's cars and get some cool pics, unfourtantly I will not be able to make the run, maybe next time!!!!!

I'm not going to be able to make it. I have a graduation I NEED to be at. I'm really sorry guys, I wish I could be there.

sorry guys its looking like i wont be going....dont know how to get there, couldnt get a hotel... and by the looks of it there wont be many 6gc's there.... sorry.

Hey, not sure who is actually going, but I still have an extra bed in my room if anyone wants to be a roomie. My per night cost is $70 for Fri and Sat night. Obviously, we would split the cost and you would end up paying $70 total. LET ME KNOW ASAP...I am going to post this on the MR2OC.com site too!! Thanks!!

i've got scheduled to work constantly that weekend... sorry guys but count me off teh list. Gotta make the money to make the car reliable again - needs both front axles, at least 1 new wheelbearing, and a tune up/rebuild to stop it from going through soo much oil

Do any of you know what time they are meeting????

Ok.....so the ones who couldn't come don't be too upset, I was there at 10:15 and ran up and down that road and other roads untill 11:00 and not one sight of an MR2 or a Celi!!!! Next time we need to be more organized, EXACT location, and EXACT time!!!!!!

Sorry we missed you. We left at precisly 10am. We had others that depended on us meeting them at certain points along the route.

We have already started planning Strong Stock 2007. It will take place at Deals Gap on May 4,5,and 6 2007. The Hotel will be in Townsend Tennesee just like this year.
Same rules are in effect as before.

The difference is that caravans will be formed in your region. The official meet place will be Townsend.
Hotel will probably be the same. So save your cash My wife does not like cheap hotels...
