if you want a solid reliable laptop for work, get an ibm think pad. i fix computers for my job and those seem to have the fewest problems. if you want a performance/gaming comp, dell xps or alienware notebook is the way to go.

get sonys new vaio, by far the best on the market, it uses Blu-Ray dvds, has the geforce 7900 video card (256 megs) 1 gig of ram, 200 gig hd, intel t2500 dual core. Even tho i despise intel chipset, its a freakin amazing PC.

I have an IBM think pad, and it gets the job done. It was seriously like only $300.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

But deep down, if you're gonna straight out comparing price + components, the MacBook Pro is missing a lot of things... The most obvious feature missing is a built-in media card reader.

That is why I want the G35, it is a media notebook. Plus I get more for my money. Both the highend G35 and the Macbook 17" Pro are same in price.

I plan to buy the G35 with my student loan, if I can. Once I figure out the details. Plus Toshiba comes highly recommend by ppl I chat with online and forums I visit (one being computer junkies)

axelrduvirage - try not to think too much about notebooks thou. Each has their pros and cons. You'll never find a perfect notebook. If you do, please tell me about it wink.gif

If you're a college student, you could check your college bookstore (or college computer store) for a student discount for all computer hard/software.

Anyway, I buy Macs because I like their OS interface, I like their memory management, I like how easy I could turn it into an Apache server, I like how I could just use the terminal and do Unix commands, and I like them so much I am willing to pay for the lack of features...

I'm a mac sucker.... kindasad.gif
