I've got a smith&wesson m&p. I shot the XD 40, but dind't like the wasy it came back to level after a shot. From what I hear, though, it's a good gun...just really came down to personal preference for me.

shouldn't the gun level out after a shot? but yeah, personal preference is the important thing. when i first started looking, i started with Glock in mind. just bc that's such a well-known company. then i went from there. i found out about the XD, and my dad has one. So, i went to a range, rented a glock 17 (glock's full sized 4" barrel 9mm). and then i shot the XD. it was no contest. even with the extra grip safety, it was just much more comfortable and what not. i also shot much much better with the XD, versus the glock. and thta's also what's important. smile.gif.

Sorry, I meant that it didn't come back to level how I liked it...the M&P felt like it came back on target quicker between shots, whereas the XD felt a little heavy in the barrel, made it move around a little more.

Again, I think this is just a preference, because the two guns have about the same features and shoot similarly...the m&p just had a little less felt recoil and was a bit more comfy in my hand.
