man, this is one of the best driving games ive played. its so addicting. your on an island (hawaii, i think?) and you have 250+ miles of endless road to drive on, with lots of missions and stuff to do. its kind of like the open world of grand theft auto, but for auto racing. anyone here have it?

here is a good review of it:
http://xbox.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/ar...ew.php?id=12386

they had 2 demos on xbox live of the game, but they were pretty bad compared to how amazing the game ended up being.

Ya the demos were less then extrodinary. I do like how PGR3 set the behind the wheel standard, and its good to see it being improved upon. And actual car licenses are always a thumbsup.gif I might have to pick it up.

yeah, it really makes you feel like your driving the car. i think games couldnt really do this before, because of the lack of ram that the last gen consoles had to pull something like this off.

in unlimited, some of your missions are to give people a ride to a certain location. if you are looking behind the wheel, you can rotate the camera and look at the person who your are giving a lift to. you see them lean back as you get on the gas or lean forward as you brake. its really cool that the game as such fine detail.

the demo was horrible. i honestly thought this was going to be a really bad game, but the retail version of the game is worlds apart from what the demo was.

This game is insane. I love driving around seeing other random (real) people driving around also. I love how they put singleplayer and multiplayer together. The level is HUGE too.

no. since the island is so big..you dont really have a ton of other people running into you or anything like that. most of the time youll just spot eachother and race them. they have a google maps style map that lests you pick ths start and end location of the races.

you can also have car clubs and meets inside the game!

Is it more towards simulation or arcade?

The graphics look very impressive. I must say!

its more arcade, but the cars feel very real as you drive them from behind the wheel. the best way to describe it is that they found a reall good balace between simulation and arcade.

btw, the in game graphics look even better then those screen shots.

Looks pretty good.. how many cars can you choose from?

I would've bought an xbox360 but I wanted to see what Sony/Nintendo had in store for the holiday season. Since Sony wants about a grand for their overpriced POS3, I'm gonna go for a Nintendo Wii.

because of the blu-ray technology, but you do get a blu-ray player and game console!
blu-ray players alone are 700+

not enough to justify the cost of the PS3, plus, blu-ray movies so far have been a giant disappointment.

couple that with the fact that you need a $9000 TV to really see the advantage of a blu-ray over a DVD, sony is marketing this device about 5 years too early.
