Yeah, I would think that a GT-4 would kill an ITR accelerating from any speed, not just from a dead stop. All that extra torque and horsepower makes a huge difference at any speed.

i agree with ghost dog as well because from a DEAD STOP an awd car with 55+hp even if it is 400 lbs. heavier or w/e would make the cars about neck and neck for power to weight

then add in the all traction of the awd and i dunno if you have ever slammed it from the start in a race with a FWD but i have and i dont get much traction and I have an AUTO.

maybe from a 50mph roll or something the ITR would win but not from a dead stop.

on all trac. net if you click on links scroll down to almost the bottom they have some vids of a few cars STOCK VS. STOCK

the ST205 beats

Silvia
Escudo
RX7 Twin Turbo

but then it races a supra and the supra got 13.6 and the GT4 got 13.9

thats stock from a dead stop with stock boost. on the 3s-gte with the ct20b turbo you can raise the boost from 10 to 16psi and it wont even flinch. thats from 255hp to around 300hp. (give or take a few)

show me an ITR that can produce those numbers stock

once again, the GT4 in that video is a Group A GT4. a regular GT4 is only about .4 seconds faster than an ITR

and i did say that from a stop any 6th gen gt4 would beat an ITR due to the AWD and better torque. but from about 25-30mph and up rolling start, thats racing in the ITR's territory.

i have seen all of the videos on alltrac.net, and i have also seen best motoring videos of an ITR keeping up with an RX7 TT on a road track with several straight stretches. i also have a best motoring video of an ITR running a 14.7

i already said that turning up the boost would make it pointless for an ITR to race a GT4, and generally stock means all parts, and engine operations are as they came from the factory. raising the boost is effectively a mod and therefore makes the car not stock

my point is that the ITR is not as slow as many of you seem to think it is. not every race is from a dead stop and not every race is stock vs stock.

If you're saying not every race is stock versus stock then why did you bring up your opinion that raising the boost isn't stock (even thought it can be done by keeping the engine in the same condition it came from the factory)?

Anyhow, you said you saw the ITR keep up with an RX-7 TT. You never said the ITR beat it.... Onto another point, I'm pleanty sure that the GT-Four's all-wheel drive would help it out more on a road-race than it would in a drag (the only part that it really 'helps' is from the start, I'm sure of it).

no my whole point was that the car is not as slow as some think. unless you have driven both cars, try not to pass judgement, too many people stick with one car and look down on all other cars.

and to me, raising boost is a mod, and thats why i said not every race will be stock for stock, i doubt that if a whole gt4 were imported here, or any person that bought a GT4 and knows what they have will keep it stock. im just saying not to take too much pride in one car, no car is perfect

and btw, i said keep up because one kept passing the other, but yes, a GT4 would own most road tracks, which is why i like it, it has good looks and for me driving in a straight line is boring. in a drag race, AWD is only good for the launch, after that it is like dead weight.

Guys There is NO CHANCE for the ITR event to get close to the GT-4,the ITR needs distance to get the HP to the High RPMs,lets say needs 8000RPM to get at its MAX BHP the GT-4 gets the MAX BHP @ 6500.
And of course, dont compare 2 cars completly defferent. smile.gif There is no BATTLE.The problem with GT-4 is the aftermarket performance parts, cuz Hondas have everything, but if you have such a beast as a GT-4,what else do you need? smile.gif

brake boosting? is that like powerbraking? i dont think you can do that in a 5spd AWD car, or to a 5spd FWD car for that matter.

either way, no hard feelings
