went to a local dyno day and did some pulls. there seems to have been a problem with the ignition pickup, so some of the data is missing from a few of the runs. they ended up giving me about 7 runs total for 55bucks (not bad)... but i only ended up with a few useful ones. next time im bringing a video camera with me to record my gauges and wideband while i dyno so that i can remember exactly what boost level i was at for each run.

this would have been my best run, but as you can see the ignition pickup dropped out during the run. grrr.
IPB Image

this one is probably the best and cleanest run, with no data missing.

nice, actually if you take the first graphic to a math professor, he will read that missing info as " power goes to infinity " so not bad at all

i was talking to nuke, and he seems to think i can gain a nice 20hp if i add more fuel at the same boost level as that 1st sheet that i posted. woot!

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

no tuning. bone stock. i have no idea why its running out of fuel. i read on mr2oc before that on some cars, the afm never goes to 100% open, so maybe thats the problem there. i think that run was at about 15psi while the 2nd one was at 13psi, yet the hp didnt change because in the 15psi run, i didnt have enough fuel.

14.7 is stoich. on a WOT run, you want the a/f ratio to be in the 11-12s. 13-14 would be considered too lean while under full boost. the 1st run posted is a little too lean, while the 2nd pic is perfect at 10-11afr

yeah i went to pdw. i would have given you a heads up, but i wasnt sure if i would have time to go that day or not or if there would be any spots left (it was a dyno day). so i kind of went at the last minute and got lucky. if you want to bring your car back there, just let me know when you go and ill meet up with you. the place is like 15min away from my house, max.

That doesn't make sense. The first run you looked lean, AFR's around 13-14. The second run you appeared to have more fuel, AFR's around 11-12. With more fuel you lost a little HP and 20ft/lbs of torque. The second curve looks good A/F wise I would say another pound or two would be about as much as you could safely run with your setup as it is. Put some 103 octane in the tank and turn it up 5 pounds and see what that will get you. biggrin.gif

sometimes not enough fuel will loose you HP. leaner doesn't always make more power. in the 2nd pic, i was at about 13psi. the car made a peak hp at:
RPM / HP / TQ / A/f
5.60 / 229.98 / 214.76 / 11.39

then in the 1st pic, the boost was somewhere around 15psi the A/f ratio went leaner, yet the power didnt change at all. the idea is, that if im running more boost, and i add more fuel, i should gain some power.
RPM / HP / TQ / A/F
5.60 / 230.14 / 216.02 / 12.78

True. I didn't realize you backed down the boost on that second run. What octane fuel did you run?

93 pump gas

Try some Sunoco 103 next time and up the boost to about 17-18psi. That will about max out the ct26.

Sunoco has 100/103 as a pump gas not really considered race until you pass 105..atleast in my area
the curves look good Art..although it does look like your loosing some around the 3,500 mark from goin down into the 10s

it dips down like that at almost any rpm range when boost comes on. i think its throttle enrichment by the factory ecu. you cant really tune it out.
