First-time modeler attempting to recreate a friend's beloved 1994 Toyota Celica hatchback.

I know the REAL manufacturer color is "Sea Spray Pearl".

Anyone know the closest approximation in ANY line of model paint accessories?

I can't find a 'translation chart' of any kind that would help me map the color :-/

Any aid would be very much appreciated.

I'm getting some guidance on construction from the local hobby store before I ever even crack the plastic on the kit pieces. Any tips on on building the model would be helpful, too!

Testors 1804 blue pearl. That's what I used for my sea spray remake.
Good luck.

Plus I used a spray enamel instead of brush applied so it would come out smooth.

Dude! Post pics when you're done. I just bought a Supra and I didn't realize just how much detail these things have! I'm not prepared at all! Good luck!

Kind of missin' my Celica GT! Hit me up if you're ever in my area. I'm always down for a meet.

Thanks for the feedback on paint colors. Any other construction tips would be helpful.

I have no idea what I'm in for, but have been reading up as much as I can before I crack the first piece off the little plastic tree connecting them all :-/

Follow the instructions in order after you paint all the parts ( I think) My bro used to do alot of model cars and since there is so much detail in them, painting first will be easier than cover painting them once you put it together.

OR

you could put it all together then take it apart, paint and then put it back together....

Good luck
