Tools needed:
Needle nose pliers
2 Wire tap-in's

Time Required:
5 minutes

STEP 1. Remove the mute wire (yellow and black wire) from the AVIC-D3 harness with needle nose pliers. This is located on the output or "rca" harness. Do this by placing the pliers nearest to the harness, and gently pulling out.
*** If you would like to retain the mute option you can go to radio shack and pick up a wire with the same end on it *** this wire should cost about 20 cents.

STEP 2. Move this pin into the empty slot above where you took the mute wire from.

STEP 3. Ground the wire you just moved (yellow and black wire) to main harness (black wire) with wire tap in.

STEP 4. Ground the parking brake lead (green wire) to main harness (black wire) with wire tap in.

*** Note - This technique for viewing movies while driving is strictly meant for Off-road use only.

the D-3 should automatically shut off though after 20 miles per hour, the newer pioneers have a built in gyro that turns off the DVD when you exceed about 20mph... i thought the d-3 was in that list but maybe not....

You are correct. the D3 does turn off about 15-20 mph when viewing a dvd. the screen goes blank. this is a bypass for that, to allow the D3 to view dvd's while in motion.

lol, nice

by the way, this is a very model specific how-to

Almost all models require you to ground the parking brake wire then tap a switch into that grounded wire. When the unit is on you enter a code with the switch and presto...

You should be able t just run that yellow wire right to ground and then be fine but that will give you full playbility all the time, if you want the option of turning the screen off (pulled over by you know who) you can set up a switch in lin with your yellow wire to ground? thats all i did it works fine?

HAHAHAH!!!
wat are the chances i have the same one, your in luck bro

the yellow long wire has to be connected to a ground then splice the wire and add a switch.

Once the switch is mounted and connected to a good ground make sure the car is off and the switch is in the on position.

Start the car and when the blue screen comes on:
1) flip the switch to off for one second
2)flip the switch back to on for one second
3) flip the switch off for one second
4) flip the switch back on and the video should appear

I had a lot of problems with this because youll not that the yellow wire is only and extension of a shorter yellow wire that comes off the back of the unit, make sure you have the long yellow wire securely fastened to the shorter yellow wire! When i first hooked my dvd player up i thought the short and long wires were connected but they werent completey (weird plastic housing holding it in place, no wire to wire contact) Sp make sure you do that and if you have any questions im here bro!

haha, not really nos just a way to filter the air coming in from my air induction hose. Its just a toy, doesnt really do a whole lot.

Hatchback > Coupe as far as looks go, but a coupe has a stiffer arse for better handling

good luck finding a gt4, and dont mess around with VINs if you get in an accident you will get crushed for insurance fraud and it wont be worth whatever you wanted out of a gt4, trust me.
