I took apart my door the other day because something was rattling inside... whole other story.. anyways...

I noticed this plug in there and I have no idea what it goes to. I was thinking tweeters, but does anyone else have this plug and what is it going to?

Hard to tell from that photo, but pretty sure that is the tweaters socket. It may be the premium speakers connection (which has a similar but different socket IIRC). But 100% certain it is for speakers in general.

Yeah it is a crappy cell phone picture. I might try and get a better shot later today, but I have the standard 4 speaker setup currently.

IMO the only thing that could be for is the tweeter. Just follow those 2 wires from it and if it plices into the normal front speaker then it's it. The UK guys have heated mirrors but I believe it wasn't a seperate plug, so it has to be for the tweeter.

I need just the tweeter bracket and the harness. sigh

do we have the part number for the tweeters ? and the covers ? I guess they come with the plug so we'd have to plu them into an existing connection and crank the radio.

If we get the part numbers I may give it a try. I'm gonna upgrade my speakers this season so that'll be a nice upgrade.

86160-2B170 RH tweeter on bracket
86160-2B180 LH tweeter on bracket
90333-20001 fixings (4)
67492-20330 LH tweeter door mirror triangle cover / trim
67491-20330 RH tweeter door mirror triangle cover / trim

And for anyone that cares:
86160-2B190 RH 4" speaker
86160-2B200 LH 4" speaker
67709-20060-C0 LH 4" speaker grille and trim
67609-20060-C0 RH 4" speaker grille and trim

I believe that the 4" speaker actually requires a different door card and door internals, it isn't simply a cut and bolt job. Sorry don't have part numbers for the fixings for these.

86160-2B160 8" speaker (LH or RH)
67651-20080 8" speaker grille for 8" or 6.5 speaker (LH or RH)
90168-40048 fixings (6 per speaker grille)

Have you ordered any of the speaker replacement parts? Are they expensive? My 8" speakers' surrounds have completely decomposed and need to be replaced, and it's not too easy to track down 2-ohm 8" speakers!

Thanks!

ya, for the tweeters (i would give you mine but they were mean to me when i took them out to swap in my kappa perfects, thus they are dead.)

(2) 320.01 thats crazy for one stock speaker, massive wast of money.

theres a how to for making "super mirrors" both power folding and heated, toyota did not make em with both, one or the other or neaither.
