im getting a puff of white smoke out the exhaust at cold start up... but only at start up...any suggestions?

That happens to me after leaving be for about 12 or so hours. its not white, but its a weird color. all i can figure is that my engine valve gaskets are going bad or something..

Heres a guide for what type of fluid u may be burning.
white smoke = h2o/coolant/steam
blue smoke = oil
black smoke = fuel

You shouldnt have to worry. I think thats the condensation inside the exhaust, thats probably steam.

Try to smell (but dont stick ur nose straight into the muffler) the exhaust gas, you can tell most of the time whats burning...

thats a pretty good way to tell IMO kindasad.gif ..standing a few metres away from the exhaust and you can actually smell it already..You have a better idea CaliJeff??

yeh. like i said earlier with wat the colors mean. i suppose a couple meters or feet could work as well, but definitely no where near the pipe. the last thing u need is to inhale all those fumes.
