it IS legal to have a RHD car in the states
all the skylines that are in the states are RHD and they have been legalized. it is, however, not legal to import a gt4, yet. in canada it will be legal to import the gt4 in 2009 (unless the laws change). just not to the states

its legal 2 import just about any RHD car, the gt-4 inculded. but u must follow the DMV rules. u must have crash data. u get that by crashing the same car u r bringing over. if yours if the first of that model u have to buy an extra car to crash first. its a painstaking process. u must front the bond b4 your car can even touch US soil to be crashed tested, then u must smog it. RHD drive cars r actually very smog efficient and will pass a actual smog "test" just not the visual smog inspection (easy fix). i mean it can and has been done, but i hope u have deep pockets or some connects. oh and let say u do front the bond and do all that, u only have about 6 months to get the crash data smog it and get your compliance sticker. if not u must ship the car back or forfiet your bond and if your RHD car is found anywhere on US roads it will been seized and destroyed. i am trying to do the same thing, your best bet is find a good importer and let then hand the messy paper work and legal jargon.
