Will it shift with the engine turned off. If so it is probably your clutch.

Don't panic. When you have time go to where your car is and just keep playing with the stick. Make sure you are pumping the clutch pedal. It'll soon free up and allow you to drive again.

it's probably your linkage. try shifting it into gear from under the hood manually.

Yea the same exact thing just happened to my car. It sucks so bad. I had to drive home in 1st gear, but I think it happened because I used to have really bad engine mounts so my motor was rockin hard! So now that I fixed the mounts the shifting only went into 1st 3rd n 5th.
But now it doesn't move out of whatever gear I put it in,

I looked under the hood at the shifting mechanisms and all that crap down there n it looks like the cable that pulls the gears is all frayed n ripped apart. I guess the rocking motor ripped it up,

So anywayyyyyyyy, how do I fix this???
Where do I get a new one?
Please help! I miss my gears (sniffle)

i jacked up my car n crawled under to find my ripped up shift control cable.

so after hours of taking apart my shifter and figuring out how to take the linkage off the bottom of the shift ball thing, i finally got it off
but now i have to find a new one mad.gif

put up a want to buy thread in the buy/sell forum or look for a thread with someone parting out their GT. other wise you'll need to shell out the big bucks to get one from toyota.
