Can anyone who has one of these with a 5SFE tell me how they sound? Are they tinny or ricey or loud-farty? Any sound clips? Thanks.

Well, it doesn't sound as bad as I was fearing. That gives me something to consider. You've got a high-flow cat, I see. Did you get a resonator as well, or is that it? Any other exhaust systems mods? Or, I guess I could just check your profile. Duh. Thanks for the clip.

I had this kind of set up before, got my DTM from e-bay cheap 40 bucks. Mine had 2.25 inlet 3 in. outlet and it actually sounded decent, low and deep, plus i have an injen short ram intake. I have a magnaflow race series now and I noticed the more decrease in back pressure, celi can breathe more smoothly now when you step on the gas. It is up to you but if you want better performance, my advice is get a branded peformance muffler, coz I got what I paid for from getting the e-bay stainless steel one.

Shaun,
If you want to meet up sometime, you can listen to my Magnaflow in person...see model # in my profile...you can find it on Magnaflow.com website. I got mine special ordered at at Pep Boys for close to $130. You will pay about the same on Ebay when you factor in shipping costs and all. See my profile for my other exhaust mods. I'm your local connection man. I've installed springs before too, which appears that you are planning to do.

Thanks, man. I forgot all about checking with you. I'm not necessarily itching to put this muffler on; I just have it on hand and thought, "Why not?" But now I see why not, so it's probably out. When I do need a new exhaust I will definitely look at the real thing for an upgrade. In the meantime, I'll PM you sometime soon and we can meet up anyway so I can see all your mods in person. Thanks again.

I think if you went with it you will be happy. The only other mod I have is an intake. I just stuck with the hi flow cat. I am happy with the results. I get a lot of compliments from people that say they really like the way my car sounds.

No problem. An ideal place to meet up would be Jenro's Coffee House on Independence Blvd, where they have that drive-in "car show" every Saturday. Not many imports there, but we can represent for the Celicas! wink.gif

Cool. Of course, I'm working this Saturday. What time do you usually go?
