Welcome to the Off Topic forum! Please read this post completely before posting in the off topic forum. Some basic rules must be followed in order for this forum to not get out of control. These rules are the same as the rules for the rest of the forums, but let me reiterate them below:

1. Try to keep your posts clean. These forums, like the rest of the site, are designed to be a family-safe environment, and that means that you must watch your use of obscenities. This also means not attacking others in your posts. Try to be friendly, especially to newbies, and treat others how you want to be treated.

2. Don't post pornography, spam, racist material, or anything illegal. These things will not be tolerated, and will get you banned from the forums.

3. For sale posts are not allowed in this forum. If you want to sell something not related to the sixth generation Celica, you will need to do it elsewhere, and not on this site.

4. Please refrain from posting pointless posts, such as posts that are just smilies or posts that say stuff like "I'm with stupid" or "Page 2 Owned!"). This includes sarcastic posts about making fun of someone's car, or playful arguing with one another in a thread. These posts simply take over threads and turn them into useless garbage.

Thanks,
Christian Coomer

Note number 4 in particular.

That's how the site is run. Off-Topic just means non 6GC related. NOT post junk.

Stop whining thanks biggrin.gif

Id like to report a thread that clearly violates this rule...

It seems shogun is always at the helm of almost all 6gc.nets fights, dont insult manphibian(luke) he is a hell of a moderator, moderation im sure is not easy to make choices of wat threads to close and which to clean.Yea i do agree that close was a little premature but it ws gonna end up with someone saying somthing mean to another person..Shogun no one is holding a gun to ur head and tell you to stay on this site...i think u need to just cool down..i want manny in on this...

i think YOU just need to cool down..No one is holding a gun to your head and tell YOU to stay on this site. Right? rolleyes.gif

Guys, this is not a pissing contest of he did, she did, he posted this that etc. The fact is that we have seen an influx of useless postings here recently. You may not see all of them because we're doing our best to delete them. That said, we're simply asking you to think before you post and ask yourself this question: Will my post contribute positively to this thread and be useful information to whomever reading?

Its really that simple. Now please think about this maturely and move on.

I've been a member here for 3 years. Ill tell you from experience that as you stay with this site, and thumb through threads and try and learn/gain knowledge, and in doing so have to attempt to filter out 4 pages of "wicked sick" or whatever other clutter occurs, it does get rather agrrivating. Grant it, its a free country and a public site, but I know I have personally complained the last 3 to 4 weeks about the increase in random posts that have occured in both, OT, and other forums.

its just more annoying then anything else.

the post whoring needs to STOP.

the ones who are doing it know who you are.

I'll admit, i deff have a hand in this, but in my defense, I do alot of positive posting. Even if it's explaining how F/S sections work to newer members, It's generally helpful none the less.
And other times, it is pretty useless garbage. I'll take my "Warning" in stride and take steps to fix this.

Just drop it.
I have deleted the same 'woo hash' post about 5 times

If you don't like the way things are done here, you know what to do wink.gif

"Woo-Hash" comment originated from me, It wasn't intended to catch on as the next biggest catch phrase like "Tight" or "Whats-up" ect. I do apologize for that.
Although, i'm not on anyone's side, I'm on the side of 6gc.net & Myself wink.gif . HOWEVER:

Agreed.

That's why i'm apologizing for what negative things i've contributed. (Woo-Hash rolleyes.gif ) It was not meant to become a new catch-phrase frown.gif

As for everyone who's not a Moderator and just making Random Arguments:
QUOTE (pressure2 @ JMar 11, 2008 - 3:47 PM)
this crap comes up about once every 6 months...it always ends the same.

So will everyone cut out the whining and crying already?

You have a problem with a Mod; Take it to another mod, or Coomer. Explain your case, and that is ALL THAT YOU CAN DO.
Starting arguments in threads is pointless and achieves nothing. Especially when you're arguing Mod's.
TRUST ME I WOULD KNOW!! (I think pressure would agree with me on that laugh.gif BTW No hard feelings? frown.gif )

Lets just all take a chill... N/M (i dont want that one catching on rolleyes.gif )

Lets all just chill and get back to what matters most. The 6th Gen Celica. We' all have alot to learn from each other, So lets not ruin it this way. (Besides, this is a website, Why is everyone so worked up about the Intra-webs? confused.gif )

Sorry, but that's kinda sucky. By that argument, the entire Off Topic section violates the rule. The thread above was in the right section, and from what I saw, each and every post was made to contribute to the original intent of the thread, without any useless or superfluous "tight" "sweet" "Yo JDM blah blah blah" comments in between. I understand your point, but I think you jumped the gun in that case. Just my opinion.

And I for one am totally sick of this nonsense. This place acts more like a day care center than anything else. There is someone new crying about something everyday. It's the internet ladies and germs, don't take it so seriously

yup, i kinda like the story. Its the only post where you can see everybody has contributed a little piece to keep it going. it does not have to be a best seller story. but EVERYBODY HELPED

anyways, why keep fighting over something its not even worth it. Plain and simple. the site is cluttered with a lot of senseless junk sometimes. How hard is it to keep it clean. Its not like we are in Pre-K...

Off topic just means its not related to celica. But sometimes there are some posts that are way out there!!

people chill. you know who you are, wink.gif

I thought it wasn't - I looked for it before I posted my comment and couldn't find it, I thought the entire thread had been deleted. Thanks for lettin' me know. In light of that, as far as the rest of this all goes, I'm among those who've received a warning of sorts, which honestly is totally fine by me. A couple of the mods already know my opinion about having a balance between friendly community chat and sharing/seeking 6gc information. Either way I'm perfectly happy and willing to make a point of trying to be conscientious of making posts with value and purpose.

Whether or not the post whoring needs to stop is not my place to say. All I'm gonna say is that I've seen other successful sites go this way and then go to sh*t shortly after. Why? Who wants to stay in a all business, no fun type environment? That's what we have work for.
Seen it many times with sites more successful than this - the fun goes so do the people. Just my .02

Good Question! It will be interesting to see what people think about this one. I think once or twice should be acceptable but over five in a row is a bit much. Just my 2 cents
