God I'm old. I can't believe it either.

I'm 30 next year, pretty disappointing frown.gif

.....and i still got ID'd twice last week buying beer kindasad.gif

I'd KILL to be ID'd. I quit getting carded at about 18. Starting to lose your hair young has it's advantages I guess though. Now that I've been shaving the dome since I was 20.......no carding at all. frown.gif

happy b-day Fastbird. you are never too old for your Celi. it's all in the attitude, dude!!!!

i know 30 can scare i guy. it's the age where you start to doubt yourself, your exploits and your dreams. you still have 10-15 years to make amends before you hit...DUNH-DUNH-DUUUUUUUNH...middle-age. live life as you see it. don't let others tell you you are not "acting your age".

take a look back to where you were 10 years ago and rejoice in the fact that you've made it this far. your contribution to society, the legacy of your efforts and the lives you have touched are why you are the person you are today. not how you act or what the date stamped on your driver's permit says.

i turned 46 in March this year. i refuse to "act my age" in lots of ways. i drive my Celi with gusto. i love to spend a few bucks on it once in a while. i just installed 2 10" subs and a 700W amp. i listen to BOOMBOX [39] on my Sirius, i listen to drum&bass compilations, i listen to Asian Dub Foundation, reggae, rock, techno -- with the top open, the windows down and the stereo turned up.

don't let a date on a calendar get you down. you still have lots to give and lots to learn.

First, let me add my Happy Birthday wishes. Also, the 21st is a good day for a birthday - my son turned four on the same day. Second, 30 ain't sh*t! You're not even to the halfway point, yet (well, hopefully biggrin.gif ). Admittedly, though, 30 is kind of a down year, but it gets better. I had quit smoking shortly before 30, then once I passed that threshold, the inevitable decline in metabolism rates came into play, and I found I no longer had the energy of a twenty-something. Consequently, my weight went up to 231 lbs (at 5' 9"), I was always tired, and felt like I couldn't keep up. Now at 40, I log a little over 20 miles/week running, I ran my first half-marathon last year, I'm training for my first full marathon this year, next I'll be looking at a triathlon, and I top out at 189 lbs. Also, I routinely outlift a buddy of mine who's into Crossfit and is the supervising lifeguard at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. I actually look and feel younger and better than I did when I actually was 30.

But ultimately, the age we are in our hearts and heads is the one that most makes us who we are, not a recorded date on a document most of us haven't seen but a couple of times in our lives anyway. Live on, get older, be better, and enjoy the experience. It beats the alternative. wink.gif

I just turned the big three-o this year too. And I will fully admit that it sucks. Time just goes by so fast.
One positive thing though, is that it really motivated me into thinking about what I want out of life and to go back to school (what I should have done all along instead of getting drunk, going to parties, or working in dead end jobs).

The funny thing is, everyone tells me I dont look my age. I normally get carded, at bestbuy when trying to buy an xbox game! hahaha, I get a kick out of that. Bars on the other hand are a 50/50 split. Sometimes they will, and sometimes they wont.

Get in line, sister. I'll be 35 in November. biggrin.gif (and as for having 2 things against you, so far as I've found on here, the answer to that would be a resounding no!)

Don't feel bad, man. I had my birthday last month and now I'm closer to the 30s than to the 20s. I feel...like dying.

you guys shouldn't be complaining yet. 30 is the new 20. a few of my cousins are in their mid-late 30's and still got game. a couple of them doctors and one with 2 teen daughters, but they're definitely not "old."

The actual number is not what sucks about it. I mean, I dont feel any different from when i was 25. Its just the idea of being that much closer to actually being old that sucks.

The fact that this is even worthy of noting makes it sound old still. It's like saying "you look great for your age"

or worse yet, being called "ma'am". WTF!!!! laugh.gif

33 [21 in the head] and I still get carded. Finally staring to put on some weight but I'm on the fence as to whether it looks better or worse on me.

LOL. On a serious note, I always hang out with my neighbors, who are in their teens, and people think I am their age. I do not look much older than high school kids nowadays. I can blend in easily.

Now, experience-wise, while they were in middle school, I was dodging bullets in the Army. When it comes to a ¨time to separate the men from the boys¨ situation, then the age difference is apparent, LOL.
