OK so it looks like I'm taking a trip to NY for a special class on blade servers (in Paramus, New Jearsy) and I would really appretiate some guidence, I'm not going to have much free time but will have some, please let me know of some places to go and some places to not go. google maps shows it like 6-7 miles from downtown NYC so heading down there is a must. its going to be next week (super last min) all week. also if anyone is in the area a mini meet would be cool.

Any and all advice is welcome.

Ah, I miss my work related NYC trips. I used to go about once a month to time square to listen to some companies product rep tell me how amazing his new line of products is for about 2hrs. Then I'd get to have fun the rest of the day in the city, all expense paid. It was fun.

If you've never been to the city you can't go wrong with the empire state building, statue of liberty & time square.

one of those NYC tours is good too, they cost ~ 90 bucks, it seems a waste of money for us that live close to NYC and know how to get to all museums and historic sites, but for someone out of town who doesn't know the city is not bad at all, I got 2 tickets as a gift for my uncle when he came from Florida and he loved it.

x2 - it's lame actually.

Being from NYC, you definitely don't do a lot of touristy stuff. I took my g/f there last summer, so we did touristy stuff so she could see all that famous stuff that I took for granted when I lived there. We did the Circle Line tour - it's a 3 hour boat ride around NYC... you get to see all 5 boroughs, learn some really cool NYC history, and see stuff you'd never see on foot. I would highly recommend it!

Anyone up for a liberty state park meet. Tomarrow or Thursday? would make for some cool photos I think. If anyone has been there let me know if its a turist friendly place, what about North Hudson park?

Edit: could make it a meet at the go-karts place then drive to the park?

Or the promenade when the weather is good... I used to like going down there once in a while when I lived in Brooklyn. Everybody gets all hyped up about living in the City... Brooklyn is where it's at, if you ask me. It's go the best view biggrin.gif

Sigh... I miss it there. Especially in the fall...
