Okay guys, I've been doing body work all weekend, and i thought it was related to that. But after removing and re-installing everything again, my noises seem to be cumming from something else.
It seems to have popped up overnight, It sounds like a wrench is bouncing around under my hood whenever i hit the slightest bump. Not really while turning or breaking, but just driving straight down the road. It' seems to be comming from the front passager area. I've made sure it's nothing body related, (as i've replaced and beat the hell out of everything and couldn't get it to make the noise) And i'm suspecting it to be comming from the F/P Tire area. The only thing i've found in my search, was Griffgirls problem with a rear sway bar bushing. But mine is in the front. Could it be a Front Strut bar bushing? Or am i retarted? (i dont know much about suspension ![]() And it may be unrelated (as i believe it's time for new pads anyway) But the first few taps to the break in the morning make a clunking noise. It's probably just time for new pads/bleed, but just incase it is related, i wanted to list it. Thanks guys. -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! How could it possibly be time for new pads? You just replaced them like 8mos ago.
Sounds to me like you left something loose - maybe in the bay? -------------------- ![]() ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. d/s rotors, Duh
![]() And then that other noise, (wrench rattle as i'm calling it) IDK WTF it is... It seems to be making these noises in relation to bumps so i figured it may be a suspension problem. EDIT: also, no, i've secured every thing. I had removed the black peice on the edge of my crash bar to bring to my shop to hammer out, but i put it back already and it's still rattle city in there. ![]() This post has been edited by D-Man: Sep 24, 2008 - 10:45 AM -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! Forget one of the bolts inside the square tubular crash bar?

it could be your front sway bar bushings are completely shot - that's the bar on the underbody.
check those bushings to see if the rubber is gone. also check out your front sway bar endlinks to make sure they aren't loose - if those are gone they make a pop/clunk sound on turns only. it sounds more like the front strut top mount to me as far as the engine bay clunking sound. i had a similar problem in my camry and it would clunk & rattle over bumps and was annoying as hell. it is kinda hard to diagnose, but check out all the suspension pieces where the noise is coming from under the car. -------------------- '87 AW11 MR2 "Super R2" 4AG-ZE swapped Stage 1 Complete

Checked it out yesterday. He for sure has some rubbing noises caused by the front sway bar bushings as do I so we're gonna fix that first but it might be possible that he also has something else up there making the clunking noises. Guess we'll see after we fix the bushings on both our vehicles.
Anybody got a good place to get good bushings? I may just pull one off and see if they match any of the off the shelf ones available at autozone. -------------------- ![]() ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. I may just pull one off and see if they match any of the off the shelf ones available at autozone. That would be cool. Otherwise the only places i know of would be used and that probably isn't the best idea. lol. Or dealership and we can pay our asses off.

just measure the mm diameter of the sway bar & any sway bar bushings will work as long as they are that diameter.
sway bar bushings are really cheap - poly ones run about $13-15 a pair. be sure to pick up some lithium marine grease (get it at walmart, etc) for the poly ones to keep them from squeaking & put new grease on every 4-6 months. i was FINALLY able to find someone with SuperPro Bushings in stock for the alltrac - twosrus.com if the bushings you need aren't on the website David may have them in stock, so email with what you need & he may be able to help you out. -------------------- '87 AW11 MR2 "Super R2" 4AG-ZE swapped Stage 1 Complete

Definitely sounds like a bad strut mount to me. Noises like that are hard to track down though.

Oh, thanks guys. Sway bar bushings are deff one item wrong with it, but that was a whole other story. The problem that i was having, was found last night.
See here It seems that (somehow) my caliper mounts lossened on the pass side, and that was a loose caliper bouncing on the edge of the bolt. When the bolt flys off and the caliper opens (topwise) and "hooks" your rims... It isn't fun. ![]() Although i've got to wait to get my parts in, I've atleast figured out what it was. ![]() -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!!
