well i've come to that time where my tires are just worn down with little tread life left so Im looking to buy new ones. Anyone have any suggestions? Im planning on keeping my stock 15" rims so i'm going to stick with the 205/55R15 size tires. My GT came with bridgestone Potenza G009 Tires and they were amazing but i'm looking to try out some new treads, something for a daily driver and not track use. I dont want to kill my MPG now.... Or my wallet . My friend can get me some brand new Hancook's for pretty cheap and I can also get Falkens for around the same price but I'm intrested to hear what tires seem to work best for your cars (Specifically 205/55R15's but anything will do). And I'll get an Alignment to just to be safe

yokohama s. drive
not cheap ($89 each) but great wet and dry traction and they are quiet and comfortable probably the best tire in the 205/55/15 size from what i've heard |

I've had Falkens on two different Celi's and love them. My 99 has Potenza's on it right now and I absolutely love them, but they are bloody expensive. Kumho doesn't make a bad cheap tire either, they've been serving my Maxima well.
I'd also recommend Fuzion, I had a set of the summer tires on the 18's for my WRX and we used a bunch of their tires at Carmax. For the 18" tires they were the cheapest around, not sure how they're priced in the 205/55r15. Discount Tire Direct link -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

So being that i just recently got new rims and 225/50r16 toyo proxes 4 tires.
Im having rubbing issues as you can see in the link below. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...48&hl=Tires Well so far so good, the toyo proxes 4 have been a good all around ultra high performance all season tires. Im debating on what i should get for my next set of tires (even though its only been 2 months since I've had them, with 2,000 miles on them so far). Constantly thinking of my next mod for the celica will be ![]() When taking turns somewhat fast, i notice that i don't have much grip at the beginning of the turn, but when i start coming towards the end of the turn i feel my tires really stick to the road. I get that weird g-force pull at the end of the turn, which feels amazing. Would this happen for tires such as toyo t1r or yokohoma s drive? -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts

I've been really digging my Nitto NeoGens. Same price as kumho, but a way better tire. These things really grip.

The sumitumo htr200's are great summer tires - low $ and relatively light... they are apparantly known to be great tires for auto-x.
I run them on my yaris, 205 width on 13's (don't recall height) and above 45 degrees or so they grip to the point that my bawlz limit how fast I turn... given the higher center of gravity it feels like the car will roll before these things lose traction. They are also very solid through the summer rains. They are ROCK hard and don't grip at all when its below freezing or when its cold and raining, though... definitely a 100% summer tire. I think I may sell my 16's and get some lightweight 15's just so I can run these tires again ![]() |
