Okay guys, so I got a PS3... How do you get a user name? That's an online thing right? What's the cheapest way to get internet for the PS3? (i have no internet at my house right now) And i'm not using a damn cable company (stoopid comcast)

Um, you could do Fios from Verizon if available - besides that I think you'll have DSL which is slower. You're going to want the fastest connection available.

For a username you have to register in the playstation network, but you'll need an internet connection first.

yeah, i know of alot of cell companys offering high speed internet... but they all work via USB (to the best of my knowledge); and the USB-modems wont work on the PS3; right?

Huh?

No, all "modems", put that in quotations because they aren't really modems anymore, connect to your computer via the ethernet port, not USB. So you will have a "modem" where your computer is that will give you internet access. Then you can either get a wireless router for wireless G to the PS3 or you can use a wired router depending on how far away your PS3 will be located.

My "modem" is on the other side of the house, so I have to use wireless on my PS3. It's not as reliable, but if you get a good router it shouldn't be a problem.

Right on, I use modem as a word because IDFK what else to call them. LOL!! Eh... But for example the Cricket internet does it via USB, the T-Mobile does it Via your phone's MINI USB to USB @ computer... Verison requires me to have a phone line? I dont do home phone. I dont do cable tv (well, dont pay for it anyway )

So how do i find connection w/o the hassle of dealing with all this other crap i dont want? (should i open a new thread? this seems to be getting legnthy)

I had TISP from google; but when we moved; they didn't offer that in my new appts. Really sucks...

If you don't have a home phone line you can't get DSL. If you don't want to have cable TV, you can't do cable so unless you want FIOS your SOL. That ranges from $50 to $150.

Just played 1 co-op mission so far.

Very nice game

its fun. takes some getting used to cuz i haven't played uncharted in a while. but overall it was worth the infamous first day buy at retail price (i usually get my games off ebay for cheaper). can wait till the whole game comes out.

Yeah, it's fun. I'll give it a better shot tomorrow...

How you finding infamous? I'm loving it!!! Just got onto the 2nd island, exciting finish to the first and the story is developing nicely

yeah, its cool. i probably wouldn't have gotten it if it weren't for the uncharted beta. but i'm glad i did cuz its pretty awesome. i'm a hero right now but i'll play evil after i beat it.
