Hi guys, i need your help kindasad.gif

I'm not to sure whats happening with the engine bay and i want to return it to stock and don't know how. So if anyone could help me out that would be appreciated smile.gif

Is the bov plumbed properly? Because i don't think its working and I'm getting compressor surge. The bov looks as thought its been opened and glued back together. Is the breather filter in red fine there? What does it do?

What does this do and what is this plug used for? (The air conditioning has been removed- just in-case that helps)

How do i remove this boost controller and plumb it back to normal?

Where should this be plumbed to?

What is meant to go where the gray marking is? What is meant to go where the pink is? But most importantly where should the brown pipe be plumbed to?

Just out of interest what does this unit do?

Also, does the internal diameter of the pipe used to fix up the plumbing matter?

thanks for the help, is the pcv valve located on the fire wall just near where the car identification plate is? i.e in the second photo it should be on that hole on the firewall just above the dark green circle.

Could someone with a 3sgte can post some picture of their lines? or even look at their set up and tell me what color pipes go where? It would be really appreciated smile.gif

Alright ill try to remember this right. In the second pic, with the green, the big circled item is the ignitor coil. AS far as the plug you have next to it, i cant really remember where it goes

And also, im guessing you have a UK spec celica right. Because in the 5th pic with the brown, it looks like it was part of the EGR system, that mustve been removed. MIght also explain that plug in the second pic. but im not 100% sure on that

Anywho, as far as the boost controller setup, it looks like the TVIS was disabled. Anywho, to connect it back up, your right with the yellow line in the third pic, as that is the turbo line. Reconnect that back up. Also, on the wastgate (should be the other metal capped-off line) the other metal line should go to another pipe that is like 3inches away from it.

Right at the beggining of the red line youll see two capped off pieces. Thats what needs to be connect back up, and then youll have your stock boost controller all set up!

Well thats all i can help with. GL man, and i hope you figure it all out. Btw, whats the story with it. Did your car come like that?

Thanks 3WayStunna smile.gif . So just to make sure ive got it right, i reconnect the yellow lines in the third picture with a new piece of tubing (to remove the boost tap) and then i also reconnect that red line (in your picture you posted) with a new piece of tubing?

Just wondering, would you be able to post a picture of your GT4, with lines on it so i can see clearly, where the pipes should be for the bov and thecream line in the fourth picture which comes out of the charge cooler?

Yeah i brought the car like this, im in New Zealand so im not sure if its a UK GT4 or what, it was imported about 4 years ago and im not the first owner

Yea i wish i could post up pics, but right now im like another 2000 miles away from my car, and i wont be seeing it for another month, so im sorry i cant help with that. And even if, my engine bay is no-longer near stock, and it came that way. kindasad.gif

Anywho, yes you ar right, just re-connect the lines like that, and it should solve your boost problem. Kinda messed up, but without a boost controller, your ECU basically just went to low boost mode, where it just boost very low in all gears because the stock boost controller was basically diabled. That is what was going on with your situation without a boost controller installed.

Alrite foudn out where the piping in the 4th pic goes to!!

first off ignore the arrows and boost gauge tapping point thingy, and just right under the first arrow is the the hose, and where its suppose to go ( in reference to the 4th pic you posted up of course)

Actually that same pic has all the reference points youll need even for the 5th pic if you look closely enough!

EDIT: btw, in the 5th pic you posted up, the gray circled clamp, thats where the throttle body cable goes...

Not sure about the 3rd gen motor but on the 2nd generation, the brown hose goes to the ac idle up, that seems to be missing on your engine. at the very least, you need to cap that off with a vac cap because it will cause a major loss in power to have that hose just disconnected .

This is one of 2 resistor packs. One of them is for the injectors and another one is for the fuel pump.

Just connect the hose directly from the turbo to that waste gate actuator. then you will see a second fitting on the waste get actuator. make sure thats connected to the metal tube that leads to the back of the motor.

Normally there should be a special check valve on one of the hoses going to the bov. Look around for pictures of mr2's or gt4s to see what i mean.
the red filter is a breather for your positive crank case ventilation. normally it should have a hose connected to the intake before the turbo, but some people put breather filters on them.

Mint smile.gif hopefully by today i can be driving my car, thanks guys! So my bov is plumbed to the right place it just needs a check valve? I think i know the one it looks like a little in-line filter - disk like?

I dont have ac so it must me correct to have that line blocked.

So the line in the fourth picture goes to some factory unit which is mounted on the fire wall smile.gif what is this unit and is it necessary and is there a part number on it? Can i get one off a st202 as i thought i saw a picture showing that they had a similar unit as well?
