Hi

Well the issue I have is that at slow speeds say in 1st and 2nd gear when im accelerating slowly at low speeds, sometimes it jerks slightly back and forth forcing me to apply more acceleration to smooth it out or switch it up a gear. Also the same occurs whilst de-accelerating at the same low rpm speeds and gear range. I thought it could have been the clutch, which was on its last legs anyway, so I changed it but no luck.

Its really annoying because at slow speeds in traffic it can be a bit of a pain to have the car jerk slightly back and forth at slow speeds... Im starting to think that maybe the spark plugs need changing as it only happens at slow speeds and when I apply more throttle its fine...?

Same thing with my car, but now it is doing it worse and worse. Won't even give me any power to go faster when I try to. I know a few other people were having this problem but I don't know if it was solved yet. No respones.

Check your cat. Akimbo had this same problem and found that his cat was heavily clogged. I on the other hand will have to tackle this problem after I replace the head gasket that just blew....oh how I love daily drivers that turn into project cars ...

check the front and rear motor mounts, sounds like they are busted.

No, it looks like a hooker put her acid vag on your hood. Acid vag = bigger problem than a few dings.

Mine does the same, only when I'm going really slow in traffic, like 20mph or less, 1st and 2nd gear speeds. I've noticed if I drop it into neutral and coast, it totally doesn't do it. I'm fairly certain it's the motor mounts too; they're either worn or need tightening. I haven't had a chance to get in there and look yet though.

I'll try and take a look at the motor mounts as well, although I was told new mounts were put in the car before I bought it. Alot of other people told me that this is most likely a fuel or ignition problem. I'll talk with my mechanic after replacing the head gasket (wish me luck on that) and hopefully we'll be able to find a solution. Kinda hoping the hesitation was due to my gasket going because of the loss in compression.
