ok pepo this is the plann i just recently came into posession of a 2jz i bought off an aquaintance for $200 don t have a trani yet but engine starts and has been tested. ive been playing around with the idea of doing a 2jz swap but never really put much thought into it till nw. im going to do some homework on this but was wondering if any one had any ideas. 3sgte swap is going into the recent celica with the supra rear conversion but i have two others that hve just been sitting around (still running ) with 300,000 miles on them so instead of rebuilding engine like i was originaly gonna do this is the plann to swap my 2jz into one of these since there not being used right now so other than those that say it is not possible to do what are your thoughts on this as i will be doing this for relativley nothing since i have access to several shops that will do the work for free granted im there to do mst of it smile.gif>....

So why don't you put your car up in your profile? And a 3S-GTE swap is absolutely the most commonly done swap here, just search for it and you'll get days upon days of threads and reading materials.

Why not put the 3S-GTE into the GT since you have the correct tranny and motor mounts already, and swap the 2JZ into the ST (the one with the Supra tails)? So Supra tails and Supra engine, only makes sense. smile.gif I figure you have to swap the tranny on the ST anyway, along with the mounts and probably a bunch of other modifications.

Its his build, im glad hes being different.. this could give people with ST models more information on doing the 3sgte.. Jeff's thread is the only detailed swap for an ST.. would love to see another one.. Good luck on the swaps man, especially the 2JZ because its written here that the 2JZ swap is not feasible.. maybe you can prove otherwise.. wink.gif

yeah 3sgte is common and is going into my st. Im pretty positive i can do the 2jz swap but it will be a learning expeience which means possibly months of down time my st which is becoming one of my favorite cars i cant really do without at this point in time 3s is more feasable because ive done this before an should only take a couple days to maybe a week to get done at most assuming i dont have problems during install.

Man, I know the 2JZ is a virtually impossible swap into a Celica, but I know it's possible. All I'm saying is if you start, don't stop. Finish the swap. I wish you the very best of luck, and I hope you decide to drive it to Illinois after you get done.

HAHA thats great...nice one

listen here young lad, and take everything i am going to say into consideration. If you can put a full supra body kit on a celica, mold it, and make it look legit, then by all means do it.

If you think your going to throw a 2jz into a FWD car, its not going to happen. its next to impossiable with our chasis, and making ANYTHING for the car would have to be custom fabricated. you would be better off building a whole custom frame for the car, then taking the body of celica and putting it onto it, even then the fire wall will have to be cut and fabbed in order to fit that huge tranny under there.

if you are smart enough to think that you can do this, then you sir, are smart enough to click the search button. This topic has been covered many many times in the past. There is lots of good information in a lot of those threads

i will get you started:

Hes a young kid, he has a dream, not an idea. If he had an idea he would know why this wouldn't work.
These threads pop up every single year by someone with a pipe dream that clams they can get this done because they get "discounts" or have a friend who has a friend who owns a shop. Yet nothing ever comes out of it.

Is it "possible"? In theory, yes. Just like the jet engine powered celicas (monster garage did one), but is this within the budget and skill set of a young kid with underglow neons and a supra rear bumper? no.

Excuse me now while I go put in a Peter Built truck motor into my Celica.
