Plus st202s also came in 3sfe in Japan which is cosmeticaly exactly a 5sfe besides the internal displacement.

hello everyone. finally got a day to put the exhaust system on. it is on and completely installed now and looks and sounds awesome. the sound it makes is very nice. doesnt sound all high pitch and/or obnoxious like i was worried it may. sounds nice and throaty. there were 2 issues with it that had to be modified. There is no bung(haha bung hole) on the jdm piping to thread the o2 sensor into and the final bend, roughly 2 feet from the cat, has to be deleted. a straight piece of piping has to be installed. As far as the tunneling on the chassis and the bend to get around the rear right wheel suspension it is exactly the same. The muffler fitment to the bumper is perfect. no rubbing and it doesnt hang low.I have taken plenty of pictures of the install and modifications that had to be done.
im thinking i could do a write-up complete with pictures about the install if it would be helpful to anyone. otherwise i can just post it in this thread tomorrow. so let me know if i should do a seperate "how to" write up. |

You wont! find a catback system for ur car (ST), trust me! ive been right where you are.
What i did was buy a magnaflow muffler AND a new resonator. With out that it will sound really ricey. But anyway after you buy that if there is not "custom" exhaust places in your town, just go around and ask. You might get shot down like i did by a few places that dont wanna touch it cause its "custom". But you can find a place that will do it, its a bit pricey mine was like $230 to get installed. Its worth it i think, you will feel more throttle response, and the silent 7AFE will finally make some good noise. Ive had a fart can welded on muffler for the past 4 years or so and it finally rusted out, as well as about 1.5' of the piping leading up to it. Ive looked at every catback system in the parts database here on the site and even though most of them look like good setups, none of them have an active link to a site where i can buy one. I know that im not going to gain crazy horsepower or anything like that, i just want a nice setup without going to a muffler shop and having something made fabricated/welded together for me. Now that i have money to spend on my car again i want something nice. It just pisses me off that i can spend 2 hours looking at badass exhausts with good reviews from fellow 6gcers but cant find one damn site where i can click and order any of them! any feedback would be great -------------------- |

$230 for custom install??? WTH?!? For header back 2.25 piping, magnaflow resonator, and muffler + deleting the post cat was only $90. The muffler was $50 used and the resonator was $31.88 (I think) for $171.88 I got a full custom exhuast excluding a header.
Maybe it's cause I live way down south. (I ain't talking bout hell I'm talking bout Mississippi) I guess everything is just cheap down hear. and the shop doesn't charge taxes, he gives you a quote and thats what you pay. -------------------- ![]() |

Earlier I've been mentioning the similarities i was pretty confident it would fit. aiii
plus the exhaust would more than likely follow the same path because of the center tunnel on fwd are used for the exhaust path unlike the st205 This post has been edited by trdproven: Dec 13, 2009 - 7:55 AM -------------------- 94 Celica GT
