You should do 4 turbos. One for each cylinder.

I think he should twin turbo each cylinder.

I would love to see what kind of Frankenstein one of our Celica's would look like if you put an 8.0L quad turbo W16 engine in it. lol

Then again... if you stripped the interior and mounted it where the rear seats meet the trunk.... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I dunno what would be more hilarious... how it looked or the fact that you'd spin your tires at WOT till about 170MPH.

At which point you and your passenger could stick your arms out the window and take off... lol

OK, I'm done.

Why did you drop $3600 into repairs? That's more than what the car is worth.

lol gtfo. I've spent over $20000 on the celica and it's pretty much stock.

Oh, you're right, I forgot about that body kit scam. You forgot to add in the amount of money for everytime you put fuel in your car.

Screw it all, just ditch the engine itself and fit as many turbos as you can in the engine bay..........................wait.

electric motors immediately hit WOT/MAX RPM.... so if u reli want to beat someone.... look into a 32,000RPM electric motor and sort of tranny with silly gear ratio's.... oh not to mention you'll need a dozen 120v Lithium Polymer batteries just for one race.... But you SHOULD beat him... just dont race at night as interior/exterior lighting will make u lose tons of power laugh.gif

..yea out of hand

Pull the motor and power the car with small asians. You'll win every time. I promise. Think of 16 small asians under the hood - each one with their own turbo. That's 14 more turbos than what you originally wanted!

Why did you drop $3600 into repairs? That's more than what the car is worth. Simply put, if you don't want to spend a lot of money, you're not going to be able to beat a WRX or RX-7. Sure the RX-7 has reliability issues, but it's a quick car none the less. 3sgte is your best option for price and performance. Reason being is because if you turbo your 5sfe, maybe, just maybe you'd be able to win one race (on a track of course). But it would be a lot easier for them to bump their power up from that point, compared to the 5sfe turbo. You'd have to put a lot more money into a 5sfe turbo to get it to the "next step", so in the end, it would have been cheaper to go with the 3sgte over the 5sfte.

With all that aside though, you shouldn't build your car just so you can beat someone else.

Well I got the car for 850 and the kid who had it before me screwed up the transmission and then the timeing belt went.

The numbers in those videos are highly exaggerated I have to say. From the start of each race it takes the GT-4 an even 10 seconds to get to the camera that's down the track.
Now if this was truly measured to 402 meters (1/4 mile) then at that speed the Celica would be passing the camera while going about 143 MPH.
Just to give you an idea of a real comparison... look at this video and go to about 1:20 in
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5gZF9EeIpY...feature=related

The skyline is going 205mph, the camera car is going 90mph, for a difference of 115mph.
Now imagine if that GT-4 video is legit and is is really passing the guy with the camera at 140mph... he would be blown off the road.

If I had to wager a guess I would say the GT-4 has about 350-400 hp, the STI is probably stock, and the Supra is running around 450-500 hp.
The GT-4 looks like a beauty but it is hardly the 600 hp monster that the video claims.

Here... is the Barbaris Celica running low 9's. This is what I show people who say Celica's are slow lol.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKwt3Q1lx1k...feature=related

As to the 2...4... 8 turbo's for our Celica's how about this to save money.
Get a CAI and just re-pipe it. You see you remove your entire exhaust except your header, and then connect the CAI straight to your header.
Not only do you add horsepower but you now have a 0 emissions vehicle.

Seriously though, you are probably in the same position that I am right now. In school, broke, and driving a car that you'd love to turn into a project. I have upgraded minimal things as they have gone. Intake, header, clutch, brake pads and rotors, tires. But I have no illusions of high HP from a daily driver when I'm a college student. If you love your car that much wait it out, learn the ins and outs of it so you can do ANY needed repair, upgrade lightly as things break, and then after you've got a real world job see if its still something you're interested in making a project.

1. the 2 cameras are not synched in any way. Just an edit job for looks.
2. there is a video of that car on the net doing 180mph before running out of gear.
3. I think the claimed 600hp is at the crank, and also greatly depends on pump or race gas use.
