It looks like you have a 3s-fe with a 5s-fe intake manifold. The valve cover says 2.0 16 valve, which would be the 2 litre 3s-fe motor, but the intake manifold says Toyota 2200 which is off of the 5sfe.

Summary: From what I can see you have a 3s-fe engine.

Forgot to add, can see if you copy just the URL out of when he tried to link the photos. I'll link them though.

Nasty motor. Looks like the previous owner blew up the 5SFE, so they dropped in a 3SFE block and kept the 5S intake manifold and probably all of the other 5S bits. Not a performance upgrade at all. Its just a cheap replacement motor. You should pressure wash that engine bay and replace the valve cover with a non corroded one. Then you'll have a nice setup.

Also, the sticker on the valve cover is most likely just there for whoever sold the motor to keep inventory. You can get rid of it.

ok...so you think it is a JDM 3s-fe... which produces 115bhp/178Nm....
but....a stock GT 5g-fe... produces 135bph/196Nm...(info taken from .celicagt.nl/info.html)
Why even go JDM??? You lose power doing that!!!! Ok...everyone...I am dissappointed with what I have in there...what are my options with this motor??? can i do a turbo/Intercooler?? Nitrous??...I don't want to a motor swap, so I guess that i willl have to make this work....I am open to ALL suggestions!! Thank you all again! biggrin.gif

Basically anything you can do to the 5S you can do to yours. Use the search function and look for "5sfte".

please use common sense and try not to go F/I on this motor. Not a good platform to start off with.

Thanks for the advice...i will peel off that stupid sticker, and the motor will be powerwashed and detailed...the car sat for over two years out side...I guess that the guy ran out of money and his friend who was working on the car died...it became a mouse n snake nest out in the corner of this guys property!!!! I bought the car as you see it in my profile for $1350.00...i have taken the interior out of the car to give it a good cleaning and shampoo the carpet and seats...the trunk is all apart and was bleached and cleaned today The car smells horrible!!!...i had to replace the fuel filter and the fuel pump to get the thing running to drive it home...also the brakes were shot from sitting so new Brembo Rotors, pads, shoes and brake hardware was installed just a couple of hours ago... tomorrow the windows will be tinted, the tail lights will be tinted and a detailed bath to remove the build up of dirt n grim in all the door and trunk jams and the edges...got to clean it well before i buff it out!!! biggrin.gif Oh...and the heater box has to be dropped and removedand cleaned!!!... hopefully the last mouse nest that is in the car!! I can't even turn on my heater or defoster!!!! I hear...clunk, clunk, clunk...Ewww!!!

yes it is a jdm motor but not one to be proud of or anything, it is a lower displacement of the 5s.

poor engine, it looks like it was stored in a salt mine. but it sounds like you are well on the way to restoration. you should definatly look into a 3S-GTE swap. if you are putting that much effort in the interior. spend some more $$$ for a good engine upgrade

^ I guess 3S series engines all have the same intake manifold, it looks the same as the 3S-GE.

3rd gen 3sge coils over the head for the acis, vvti 3sge is a bit more similar, but i think is bigger and has velocity stacks inside

That 3sfe intake manifold looks like the 5sfe intake manifold. gen 1 3sge has almost the same size runners with tvis and side feed. Gen 2 and 3 non beams 3sge has short runners to the acis and then over the valve cover. Beams is a very distinct intake manifold.
