headers makes your 3rd gear stretch, better top end. but after the headers I did get an EGR CEL code. Must be dealing with the way the whole headers thing works with the engine now. More carbon?

Yeah 3rd gear for me was also stretched. I like that smile.gif

Ive had mine for a month now.. put on a good 2000 miles on it. no CEL code yet..

how long did it take before yours came on?

Took mine about 15 seconds.

you 2 have gt's, i have an st. could that be it?

or maybe cause mine is obdI since its a 95?

i never installed the second factory O2 sensor in mine. what you see in the picture is actually a wodeband O2 sensor. i never got a CEL.

as for the EGR coding. check the vacume lines on the EGR. one of mine kept blowing off, i had to zip tie it on.

Still running with upstream O2 sensor only...still no CEL. I got the downstream one in a box, but still see no need to install till I pop codes.

You wont throw a code for the downstream O2 (Post cat.) because its used for checking emissions not controlling, their for it doesn't effect your air to fuel. Which means no light.

Good to know...how exactly is the down stream sensor used for checking emissions?

It reads the gases moving threw the exhaust after the cat. and see what gases are leaving the tail pipe ie hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, exe. and then stores that info in the ECU, and for people who know what Im talking about, it is also used for short and long term fuel trims.

It depends on the state regulations(not familiar with cali), also many of our cars come with 2 cat.s (1 header and 1 after the down pipe) and if you have the 2 cat system then yes you will pass.

P.S. I thought cali was a no mod. state?

So that pretty much applies for OBDII then. I got OBDI and dont see any way of anyone pulling info off my ECU.

you will never pass smog in CA with this header. its not CARB legal, but its a 30 minute job, just switch back when you need to.
