Hi all new to this forum, hoping someone can help? I have a 1998 celica ss III and once every couple weeks I go out to start it in the morning and it wont start. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? If I try it later then it might start

Thanks for any help

my guess would be corroded battery terminals.. or it's a sign of battery failure

maybe the battery is too small (not enough CCA) or low charge

is the cel (check engine light) coming on?

check your getting a spark
getting fuel & air
has any work been done to the car recently eg cambelt etc?

No lights coming on, if you push the car then it will start grand. yes its getting spark . No work done recently, cambelt done a good bit ago well before this started

the oil cap and owner's manual shows the type of oil recommended for the engine.. mine says 10w-30 but not sure what it is for the beams engine.

Yes Jessie

Fellow Irish Beams owner here.

I'd say your alternator could be dodgy, 3S-GE's destroy them.

Maybe check your earths too.

Your battery could be banjaxed also, this cold weather we're having could be to blame for the problem being intermittant.

And welcome to the club (register on celicaireland too!)

Hope this helps
