When SH*T hits the fan most of you will try to sell your car when cost of repairs will outweigh what the car can is worth to you. Longest member owning a celica here have had it for about 12 years I think. Most celicas (non GT-4 here in usa) seem to be trading hands at least 2-3 times in their life time so while you may be staying with a celica.. it may not be the car you are driving right now.

I am on my 4th and hopefully final 6gc celica right now and being grown up sucks.. you need practical cars when you are older. Unfortunately.

Here's the way I look at it. Its jus my opinion tho. Dnt hate on me or bash me bc everyone has their own opinion. Some ppl will move on and do lose interest. That's to be expected. However there may be some ppl who wnt move on and who may get another car but it doesn't mean they will up nd leave their 6gc in the dust. Some ppl may get new cars and park their 6gc nd use it like older ppl with old cars. It may become a weekend/show car. This car may be some of the members dream car. The only car they've ever wanted. If I ever aquired my dream car I wouldn't lose interest in it or sell it unless absolutely necessary. Everyone has a different view on this and there will never be a center point. Ppl come and go and some ppl seem to be around longer than you can remember. I am looking to buy another car currently but that just to use as a dd so I can park my 6gc nd not beat on it as much

I'd like to join this list but I know better than to delude myself into thinking I'll always have my 6GC. Don't get me wrong - I love this car, I've wanted one for the better part of 10 years, and now that I have it I'm completely enamored with it BUT I am already looking at the future and hoping to purchase a 2012 FT-86 (come on 8th Gen. Celica wink.gif ).

I won't sell the 6GC - it'll be the DD while the 8GC will be the weekend vehicle...at least until kids arrive and then it's bye bye Suzuka.

The inspiration for the FT-86 is the AE86 Corolla but we all know with the positioning of the Corolla in Toyota's current lineup the production 86 will most assuredly not be a Corolla. It has a better chance of being a Celica (since that marque is currently unused and could use a rebirth) or a new Scion tC than a Corolla. Trust me, I know the difference between the two platforms and it seems more likely it'll wind up not sporting the Corolla name it drew inspiration from.

For me, the 6GC has always been my favorite car. The looks of it, are just perfect. I've wanted one for the longest time, but could never afford it in my younger years. I'm not old as dirt, nor am I under 25, so I guess i'm in the nuetral area there. I plan on keeping mine forever to be honest. I cannot forsee me needing to sell it, or losing interest. I'm not a car enthusiast, i'm a 6th generation celica enthusiast, I have no desire to work on other cars. Celica has, and will always be my dream car. I'm also not rushing the process, I'm enjoying everystage of upgrade, mod, or repair. When its all finally done, and they way I want it, I'll never get tired of seeing people go

when you drive by

If children pop up one day, then of course i'll make due and purchase a family vehicle, but the Celica is not going anywhere.

Nor can the woman make me sell it, hopefully she doesn't read this, but if she forced me to choose between her and the car, it'd be the car for making me choose.
