My ST (Automatic) with an Intake, UP and Exhaust couldn't beat a 5SPD LS.

Any 3rd gen Teg will beat any 6th gen Celica... regardless of what people claim. With equally skilled drivers, stock for stock, mod for mod... the Teg simply has a better chassi design, suspension, drivetrain, and powertrain (as far as performance goes)...

A while back when I had only intake, exhaust, s-afc, and underdrive pulley, I raced my fair share of integras. I was able to beat them, but of course, they were stock. I'm running a GT also.

integras will not beat 6th gen.... unless you are runnin an st.... then the higher model integra will getcha.... the person i bought my 6th gen from bought a new integra and said it was slow as hell compared to her 6th gen

only the gs-r or type r can take a 6th gen.... thats if its a 98 or newer model.... any older and the gs-r has lower torque rating and high hp.... so off the line the 6th gen would kill.... but im not sure about after 2nd gear

Have you ever driven any third generation Integras? I'd driven a '94 GS-R and a '96 GS-R, both five speeds, and both would kill a ST204 or an AT200(I've driven both of those too) stock for stock. The GS-R can pull off a 15.5 second pass on the 1320 bone stock. The LS/GS/RS/SE can do it in 16.1 seconds.

Also, all third generation Integra GS-Rs had 170 horsepower and 128 lb. ft. of torque, regardless of year.

A while back I was planning on selling the Celica to buy a 95 LS I came across.
The car was in perfect condition, looked and felt like it was brand new.

Yea well after I test drove it I realized it was nothing compared to the Celi.

I mean it felt really good, but the engine didn't have the response the celi has so I said forget it.

I still want it but no way am I trading my 6th gen for it.
I doubt I will beat mustangs and turbo stealths with that Teg.

I was planning on doing the same thing a long time ago, only the car was a GS-R...'94 black 5-speed hatchback, 42k put on it from the original owner(middle age lady), perfect condition inside and out, etc. I drove the car and it was nice(DOHC VTEC kicking in is fun smile.gif), but then I decided that I'd rather have something unique that hardly anyone has. wink.gif

Coomer if you did that you'd probably would have changed the lives of several people's cars because if it werent for the site my car wouldnt be where it is and im sure alot of others peoples cars wouldnt be either.

I disagree with everything you've said. In addition, you say off the line, 6th gens would kill... but who actually races up to 30 MPH (top speed in 1st gear)?

This debate is ridiculously true. Unfortunately the low power Celicas 6g that were sold in the states were pitifull. That is the reason why Celica has not been sold much in the states and is now being scraped. The idiots in Toyota let the hondas take over with their lighter and more tunable civics and integras. I had an ST206 Curren JDM for the past 5 years with no mods (180 bhp with 98octane petrol) and i was only beaten once by a fully tuned integra and by a WRX. The JDM Celis are effortlessly comparable with the type R hondas and not the plain models.
Nontheless, i also have an ST205 GT4 now (no mods yet) and Hondas do not even dare race me. I am waiting for the time when i race a tuned Evo or WRX and get beaten before i start tuning the GT4.

Sad but true; the US spec Celica is just not powerful with its 3S-FE engine. In every other country the Celica was sold with the 3S-GE engine with about 50 bhp more.

cwm13.gif I dont know but my Celi kick @$$...Insane 1st gear goes up to 40, then when second shifts in it pulls hard again to about 55-60, third picks up to 90 with ease......which i dont get to unless im on the highway.

I have never lost to an Integra, and I didn't get one because it lagged bad at high speed... thumbsdown.gif
The Celi was about 1/4 a car ahead when a turbo stealth wanted to race...
A mustang went down on the highway to about 80 or 90...

I think the 6g celica rules...

Unfortunately we didn't even get the 3SFE. Our engines were the 5SFE (135 bhp) and 7AFE (115 bhp). wink.gif

What have you done to your car performance-wise? Unless the turbo Stealth was severely broken or driven by a bad driver, it should've smoked you.

And what generations and models of Integras have you raced?

Heh... either that, or you've never driven a truely INSANE car. I'll still stand by my statement before...

Let me also put it this way... my brother-in-law drives a 91 n/a MR2. It runs high 15's and is slightly modded... yet he had his ass handed to him by my cousin, who drives a 93 Integra LS, also slightly modded. I can even set-up for a video to be shot of a race against the MR2, the Teg, and against myself. My car is much faster or just as fast as any slightly modded GT.

Let me also mention something about engines, and why the Integra engines 'lack response'.... The very nature of a high-powered n/a engine, especially a 4 cylinder, is exactly opposite of the USDM 6th gen Celica's engines. Not just compression-wise, etc... but the way the engines make their power. I'll be one to say, even tho others will argue torque means more than power, that power will always with in a race. They are essentially the same thing, however, the difference is where they are. Torque is usually peaked in the lower-mid rpms, between 1500-4000 rpms. That alone, means high torque, will only help for one gear, considering if you're racing, the engine will be revving very high. Power is in the high rpms, and when racing, you'll be in the high rpms 90% of the time. That is the defeating factor as to why the USDM 6th gen celica motors are not built and cannot perform the way many people want them to (without a lot of $$$ of course). Now, the Integra motors 'lack response'... umm, no they don't. The very nature of the B series motors (B16, B18, B20, B21) are to revv and make power (just like any other performance n/a 4 banger). Vtec utilizes that and enhances it even more, however, isn't neccesary for these engines to make their power. If you drive an Integra, and keep it under 3000 rpms... it'll be a very tame car. Regardless of whether its an LS/GS/RS or GSR, they'll all have a significant powerjump beyond 4000-5000 rpms. The GSR will have an even larger jump, because of the vtec system. Couple that with their short gearbox and there you'll have a very capable n/a car in stock trim. Add a few bolt-ons, fuel/timing tuning, some cam tuning, and these are n/a cars that can tip-toe the 14 second barrier. No joke.

My point in all of this mess, if you've managed to keep it all straight, is that, performance oriented n/a 4 cylinder engines, all act the same. They have little response in the low-end, and 'jump' to their power spots in the high-end. Those very fast LSVTEC conversions that are so popular with honda enthusiasts, typically rev to around 10K rpms. Some of them are 12-13 second cars with very little low-end bang. Toyota's Formula Atlantic 4AG, 240 hp @ 10,000 rpms.... TRD's group A 20Valve 4AG 255 hp @ 11,000 rpms... even in production trim, the old 4AGE's redline @ 7500 rpms, the 20Valve 4AGE redlines @ 7800 rpms... on and on and on. Those that say torque will always win... well... off the line, yes... but accelleration ability is measured in HORSEPOWER because of the revving nature of engines. Torque wins in the old American V8s because they all have very tall gearing which benifits the torque curve, and very modest redlines, which further benifits the torque, but they're not being compared here. I'm talking strictly Import 4 banger's n/a potential...
